The problem is that his own arm is damaged, so the bending takes longer then it would have had he not had to will himself in holding the arm that's damaged steady while the hand attached to his good arm did most of the work.

"Kia?!" he exclaims with shock before realization comes on his face and he lifts his head and promptly bangs it against the floor once.
