Backflow's 'verse. Earth, someplace in America. No apologies, no regrets.
"I want my tanker back, and you're going to get him for me!" the gravelly bellow thundered through the halls of the Decepticon underwater base, causing a few bots to glance up and one red recorder to flee the site of his latest experiment with aerosol cans.
"But Megatron, he's dead!. And you slagged up Vector Sigma so that we couldn't get anymore new sparks, remember!" came the high and petulant retort. It was followed by a clank and a cry of pain.
"I want my tanker, Starscream." Megatron's voice held danger in the tones. It was followed by a shriek of pain from his second in command. "Do you hear me???!"
Typical of Starscream, her only reply was a burst of vituperation, followed by another screech and a clang that rang faintly throughout the base.
"Get it done!" Megatron strode from her lab, his optics nearly white with his frustration and rage. He never noticed the static as he walked through something that was standing in the hall outside Starscream's door.
"It's not like we need the psychotic glitch anymore anyway," muttered Starscream behind him as she pried herself out of the dent in the wall. Then she turned and frowned at the damage, her head tilting as she realized with bitter amusement that Megatron had planted her in the last dent, only facing upward this time, and that there was now the imprint of a Seeker with arms and wings on both ends on her wall. "Stupid slagging brute..."
Still muttering, she went over to where Soundwave was busy beating the dents out of a piece of the late, unlamented tanker bot. "I don't see why he doesn't just get the Constructicons to do this. It's their line of business."
"Constructicons busy," noted the dark blue mech without looking up from his work or his music.
Starscream rolled her optics and gave an aggravated huff through her intakes. "Yes, as though they really think their great underwater space bridge is actually going to work. If you ask me Hook's finally fried his processor on those chemicals he eats and passed the affliction on to his brothers and sisters."
Soundwave made no comment, only glanced sideways slightly as he felt his circuits prickle with static.
"Hmmm. There he is again. Stupid drunken slagger. It's too bad he's no use to us in the state he's in." Starscream glanced in the direction that the discomfort seemed to be coming from, quite calm in the face of the fact that she knew herself to be in the presence of an extinguished spark. "I'd have thought he would have hared off to the Allspark with no apologies or regrets, but he probably hasn't even realized what's happened to him yet."
Then she grumbled and went to dig through her drawers, muttering to herself till she finally gave a small cry of satisfaction and lifted a large remote control out of the tossed aside jumble. "Here we are. A tanker hasn't any need to do complex maneuvers, so with a combination of this and a simple drone AI we should be able to give Megatron back his precious idiot."
"Chestplate finished." Soundwave tossed it aside and picked up the next piece of plating, ignoring what he recognized to be an attempt to hack his files and take over his shell. "Backflow present."
"Again?" Starscream dropped the remote on the counter and turned to walk over to him. "Here, I'll get rid of him."
Soundwave set the bit of tanker bot down and obediently stooped slightly, then made a quiet and pleased sound as Starscream set her mouth to his face mask and gave him several volts of a very pleasant kiss.
"Better?" She smiled up at him, pleased to note the lack of static in the area.
"Better." He hugged her and nuzzled her helm, then returned to work.
"Alright." She turned away and picked up Backflow's head. "Now let's get rid of this processor that he never used anyway, the stupid, vampiric glitch."
To be continued.
