Auspex's reality. Sanctuary of Primus. Secrets will out.
Tessera: *telling Auspex BIG story*
Auspex: *optics widen slightly, as chiproach chatters on... and on... and on...*
Tessera: *pauses suddenly and points antennae toward the door* :o
Auspex: *frowns slightly, glancing that way herself*
Blackarachnia: *enters, frowning inwardly even though her drone face is expressionless* So, you're here this time.
Tessera: *happyhappyhappy!* *scoots*
Auspex: *glances sidelong at Tessera for a moment, before peering with a bit of confusion at her visitor* Your voice is familiar, but your appearance is not. Blackarachnia..?
BA: *grimly* In the tin, sister. Your lackeys really need some training.
Auspex: *nods slowly, though she does not understand completely* 'Lackeys'..? There are those who frequent this place, who are learning to serve Primus, but I have no command over them. I was told that you had come here, but I am not sure I understood the reason.
BA: *scowling inwardly* I came because I want my property back.
Auspex: *shows very little reaction* Your property? From what I understood, you did not claim the sparklet as yours. Why the sudden interest?
BA: *angrily, and blustering a bit* She's mine. I built her. And I want her back.
Tessera: *on back of Auspex's chair* *happyhappyhappyhappy*
Auspex: *finds the constant hum of Tessera's cheer comforting, offsetting the bristling Decepticon's emotions* But why do you want her back? She is not mine to give, and she is not here, but perhaps if I understood what you seek, I would be of more use to you.
BA: She's mine! That's reason enough! *a bit of worry now mixing in with her mounting temper, and that protective feeling that was associated with Optimus on the last time that the two femmes had met*
Auspex: *quietly* Normally, I would agree. I have the impression, however, that your interest in the sparklet is not entirely personal. There is concern for another person in this, I think..? *it's phrased as a question, but there is a certain finality in her tone*
BA: *glowers up at the larger femme from her expressionless face, her arms crossed over her chest. This is a test of wills.*
Tessera: *beetling about on the chair back* *happy...*
Auspex: *gazes back placidly, unmoving, though her words are still soft* I thought, perhaps, that Optimus might find it difficult to put this ordeal behind him. I was not certain, however, if this would be of concern to you.
BA: *flinches inwardly at mention of Optimus, and feels glad now for her lack of expression as she looks at the floor and fights with her pride*
Auspex: *pauses, conferring with Primus, giving Blackarachnia a moment's rest from scrutiny, before continuing* I understand your reluctance to discuss your motives. But perhaps, rather than directly address them... I may ask how is Optimus doing?
BA: *flinches again, and this time it shows. She drops her gaze again and answers quietly* He's not getting any better. Ratchet's got him confined to his berth, but his spark's not healing the way the old bot thought it would. *There is love in her spark as she speaks; frustration, concern, and a bit of fear*
Auspex: *frowns a bit, nodding. She still finds the fem's emotions toward Optimus to be quite a jumble of contradictions, and again, she wonders just what happened in their past. She leaves the curiosity with Primus, returning to the point*
Something about the spark-to-shell connection, seems to have affected him deeply. Seeing her again, I think, would do much to cheer him - but he refuses to allow the chance for her to build a relationship with anyone in your universe, for fear that her unusual origins may cause prejudice against her.
BA: *frustration grows* No one has to know about where she came from. No one else even has to see her.
*happy feelings of homecoming from outside the door*
Auspex: I would tend to agree with you; there is nothing in her outward appearance that would make her seem unusual to anyone, and... *she's already there!* I doubt she'd be very impressed if anyone thought she was, for that matter.
*Her optics travel toward the door. Surely that's not who she thinks it is...*
BA: So we both agree Optimus is an idiot. So can I have the... little bot now?
Tessera: Myrrh! :D :D
BA: ...What? 0_o
Auspex: *winces slightly* That's not quite how I'd put it, but I do think he is not being rational. I would be relieved to have them meet, but as I say, she is not something I give or withhold; she is quite independent, and she has made her own decision about where she should stay.
*she is still eying the door, not commenting on Tessera's outburst, or Blackarachnia's question. This may be awkward...*
BA: *also watching the door now as well as the tiny insect-like bot who has just scurried toward it babbling joyfully. When she sees who it is that the little being has gone to greet, however, her optic band brightens with surprise as her spark flares with angry suspicion* What are you doing here?
Myrrh: 0_0 Blackarachnia.
Tessera: *happy!*
Auspex: *and here is the awkward. Not to mention the position this puts her in... her expression remains placid, however. She tilts her head slightly* She is a servant of Primus, and he does generally introduce us to each other. Hello, young one. *she greets Myrrh carefully*
BA: Yeah... hello Bittersweet. *Mocking is her tone, and angry, protective and suspicious is her spark.* So Primus introduces his loyal little servants. Was it him that brought that Starscream clone here, too?
Myrrh: Bob is also a servant. And one of my mentors.
BA: *even warier and angrier* Lovely.
Tessera: :o *happy!*
Auspex: Bob is very little like the mech he was patterned after. I know a few alternate Starscreams, and I doubt any one of them would be happy in a place such as this.
*she is eying the two thoughtfully, mentally flailing at Primus for some sort of direction here. She should not give the secrets of others, but surely there is a reason Myrrh is here, now?*
BA: *scornful* Starscream is Starscream.
Myrrh: *frowning and distracted as she argues with her creator*
Auspex: *chuckles softly* Then it is fortunate that Bob is not Starscream. You would immediately know the difference, simply by looking at him. He has no delusions of grandeur.
*She is stalling, somewhat, sensing the conflict Myrrh is having with Primus; he does not wish for the secret to continue, and this seems to be of issue to the little fem*
BA: I don't look at them if I can help it. I like my fuel in my tank. *frowns inwardly and looks at the femme she knows as Bittersweet, then reaches over and pokes at her*
Myrrh: *startles and starts to cry*
BA: ...
Auspex: *dryly* I have heard much the same from a few of my charges. I have also heard much the opposite. But I hear many things.
*optics widen at Myrrh's reaction; she reaches to carefully put an arm around her shoulder, giving Blackarachnia a sober glance* Your answer may be at hand, but I cannot say, myself. *she asks for Primus to reinforce his calm to Myrrh, doubly to her and through Auspex, if necessary*
BA: *frowning uneasily at the weeping femme, feeling a chill prickle through her sensor net*
Myrrh: *shaking her head beseechingly, then looks up at Auspex and whispers* But he said... Hormah said...
BA: *getting angry*
Auspex: *consulting Primus, patpatting Myrrh's shoulder soothingly, she switches to comm* //I know, Myrrh. But at this point... Optimus wants to see that you are safe, and happy, and the stress of not knowing is affecting his health now. Ask Primus what he wishes, and trust that it may not always be what others would have you say; what hurts can also heal.//
*her tone is somewhat firm* Blackarachnia, come, sit with me, and have patience. Some questions cannot be answered all at once. This does not mean they will not come.
Myrrh: *confused and upset, her youth showing very clearly* //I don't understand.//
BA: *thinks of booking it. Quite put off by what's going on, but the curiosity keeps her rooted to her place on the floor*
Myrrh: *shutters optics as she feels what Primus is saying and then leans against Auspex* Alright... I'll tell him.
BA: *inward scowl and protective flareup* Tell himwhowhat?
Auspex: *half-hugs Myrrh, absently sending Primus' reassurance through the contact, even as she nods to Blackarachnia, indicating that the answer will be forthcoming*
//What about Blackarachnia? If you'd rather, I'll talk to her; I will only tell her your story if you wish it... though she may be beyond the point of accepting vague answers, if you do not. Optimus will be considerably easier for you to talk to, I think. Then again, perhaps it would be better for him to tell her.//
Myrrh: //She'll think I'm a coward, hiding behind you...// *intakes air deeply a few times, accepting that reassurance, then lifts her head and looks at Blackarachnia, jaw firming*
BA: *looks back, suddenly uneasy*
Auspex: *frowns, sighing a bit* //Perhaps she would. That is unfortunate. But Primus is with you, and he will use me as well, if it is needed. Take courage from that.//
*she gives Blackarachnia a placid glance, hoping the calm may prove infectious*
BA: What the slag is going on? *gaze going from Auspex to Myrrh*
Myrrh: *one more 'breath'* Why did you come here today?
BA: *Uneasy uneasy, cussing herself out because she can't figure out why* To get what's mine.
Myrrh: *shakes head at Primus' prompting* Why did you come here today?
BA: *looks at Auspex, wondering just what's going on here* I came to get a little bot... that my body... *too squicked to continue*
Auspex: *remains silent, but she gives Blackarachnia a sympathetic glance. It is not easy for their race to understand birth, and even the possibility is... highly disturbing. She's dealt with the aftermath of such, thanks to the sort of strangeness the Nexus has brought in...*
BA: *finally actually thinks about what happened: how she'd had another living thing growing inside her and living off her systems* 0_0 *sways*
Myrrh: *darts forward and catches her*
BA: *hisses at her, but it's absent, and she's glad of the support*
Myrrh: *looks down* You came to get me.
BA: ...What?
Auspex: *squeaks softly as Blackarachnia nearly goes down. She reaches, but Myrrh's already caught her. She remains 'hovering' nearby with concern*
BA: *putting two and two and three together as she studies the face that's so close to hers. Anger flares through the sickness, then turns to a flash of amusement as she realizes that the creature's as sneaky as she is*
Myrrh: *feeling all this even as she winces with sympathy and prays for easement of the dizziness that the older femme is feeling*
Auspex: *observes the mixed emotions with understanding, then blinks a bit, as Primus indicates that she should speak. Speak, she does*
Hormah aided Optimus, before... his brief experience with free-spark-hood. He asked her to take the sparklet somewhere safe, and so she brought her here, to Bob, my charge. She had quite a bit more programming than some of the sparklets I've met... and we were quite surprised when she grew into a full-sized mech within a week.
BA: *semi blanked still. Voice a little squeaky as she says* Grew?
Auspex: *looks almost sheepish; she knows this is a lot to take in. She nods a bit* Self-repair building on and changing the shape, rather like it would restore a tear in the armor. She... took in quite a lot of metal, to provide the material. I've seen such a thing several times, now, thanks to the random strange things that occur in the Nexus; it is still hard to comprehend.
*her aspect is wondering, but accepting; she does not think less of Myrrh for the non-standard behavior, but she suspects Myrrh knows that, anyway*
BA: 0_o ... *ewww* *wait...*
*shakes off the illness and confusion and grabs Myrrh by the wrist* Right. I've got what I came for, then.
Myrrh: *quick glance at Auspex* //I'll see you again soon.//
Auspex: *raises an eyebrow in mild surprise* Er... yes. *She tries to read her... hopefully there's no resentment here, though that has a chance of coming later* I pray, then, that this will put Optimus' mind at ease.
//All right, but Blackarachnia may be unpredictable. Stay close to Primus... ah, you will, I needn't lecture you.// *she returns her glance with a smile of encouragement*
BA: *is determined, and hopeful*
Myrrh: *letting the smaller femme drag her away as she continues to look at her mentor* //I will, and I know.// *smiles back and then passes through the door*
Tessera: Ooooooooo!
Auspex: *the silence hangs for a few moments after they leave, before Auspex slowly turns to blink at Tessera* Well. That was... odd. I thought she would want more explanation... I hope this doesn't become an emotional explosion, later... *her optics dim pensively*
Tessera: *happyhappyhappy. Climbs mount Auspex and gives her taste tastes along the way*
Auspex: *sighs as she turns to Primus, seeing that he, too, is expecting future unrest... but it will be all right. She concedes the point: Primus will use his knowledge and his power to bring about peace, in some way... and this always brings peace to her mind. She sends thanks as she scritches the climbing chiproach and loses herself in commune.*
Auspex: *optics widen slightly, as chiproach chatters on... and on... and on...*
Tessera: *pauses suddenly and points antennae toward the door* :o
Auspex: *frowns slightly, glancing that way herself*
