Kurt's Oldworld: Joy trapped (locked to random_xtras)

Hank sighed as he walked down to Kurt's old room, hoping the Nightcrawler's fiancee was there and not on the roof.

"Erm, excuse me, Miss Joy? Are you in there?" he asked, frowning. Everybody was worrried about the amount of time she'd spent in there and on the roof. Ever since Kurt went back to thier home and she hadn't she seemed inconsolible.

Joy pointed one ear toward the door from where she stood wrapped in her wings and looking out the window. "Ja."

"May I come in?" he asked, sighing with relief.

"Ja," she said absently, lost in prayer again.

He entered slowly, then approached her, while keeping his distance.

"Are you alright?" he asked gently, careful not to stare. "Nobody has heard from you for a few days...."

"Ja." She shifted her wings slightly.

"Are you hungry? Have you had anything to eat lately?" he asked, looking her over, obviously concerned.

"Nein." -Got, vatch over him vhile ve're apart. Ease his heart.-

"Would you like to accompany me to the kitchen? Perhaps we can find something you'd like to eat?" he said,

"Nein, danke." Both ears suddenly pointed back toward the depths of the mansion.

"Perhaps for a walk then?" he asked, sitting down on a chair near the door, looking at her intently.

She finally turned and looked at him, ears sweeping back in a frown. "Vhy?"

"Because I'm worried about you," he said, then paused. "Let me rephrase. I'm the resident doctor, and I fear that your worry over our warward comrade is having a negative effect on your health, erm, mental and physical."

"'N how ye figurin' that?" Her gaze strayed toward the window again.

"Well, if you pardon my saying so, you haven't eaten or left this room since he vanished. except to go to the roof. That's never healthy. And I have a sneaking suspicion you haven't had any rest yet either?"

"Tis only ben three days." She shrugged one shoulder. "I'm fine."

"You're not. You're extremely upset by this. I understand, but you need to come out once in a while, at least for sunlight and fresh air and excersize. And food."

She hunched one shoulder at him. "I've lived most 'o me life w' nary a touch 'o a sun. 'N my volk're gut fer months vithout food."

"That's... not the point," he said, then sighed. "Forgive me, I'm not very good at this... but the Professor and I, and the rest in the mansion, in fact, are worried about you."

"Alright..." Hank said, then coughed slightly. "How have you been feeling of late?"

"I'm worried fer Kurt." Her rich alto is nearly too low to hear. "He needs me."

"He's a strong one, I'm sure he'll be fine until you find a way to return to him," he rumbled gently.

"He vasn't fine afore I met 'im." Her ears went back again.

Hank blinked and sighed. "Yes. He loved Ororo very much."

Joy shook her head. "She vasn' t' problem. But anyvay."
