Spike stumbled out of the cafe, and into a strange, new place.

He frowned, then looked around, but Charlie wasn't by him anymore.

"Oi, what now?" he called, turning around and around. "WHAT NOW?"

Silence answered him, and the whispering of the wind in the trees and the grass.

Wait, the breeze seemed to echo Charlie's last words.

Spike turned, blood chilled, then looked around, shoulders hunching. What was he supposed to do? What would this man turn him into?

Part of him, the demon, was screaming in fury and panic. He wanted to run, return home, gut innocents or wipe out a species of demon. But the human part wanted Ang, and the man was right. He couldn't go near her again, not like he was now.

He looked up at the sky.

"You gonna turn me?" he muttered, looking at the stars. "What'll I turn into? What'll I do?"

Walk in the light, whispered the wind. Dance in the sunlight.

"Are you mad? I'll roast to ashes," he said, shaking his head. "Besides, it's night out."

Behind him the breeze swirled and condensed into the form of a woman in seventeenth century garb, her violet hair and silken cloak swirling in the wind's caress. "Ye asked what ye'd do after ye changed, mate."

"I wouldn't burn after then? You'll reverse everthin'?" he said, turning to her, hiding his shock. He scowled.

"You the one Charlie sent me to?"

"I'll burn the beast outta ye." She crossed her arms over her chest and smirked. "Ye'll walk in the full light 'o day, luv. 'N aye, that'd be me."

"My body's centuries old. You only kill my vampiric side and I'll waste to nothing," he frowned deeply.

"We ain't jes' killin' it. We'll be replacin' wit' somethin' else."

"With what?" he said suspiciously.

Her mortal form seemed to fall away like a cloak, to be suddenly replaced by power and a light that dazzled his senses. Shimmering wings spread, and eldritch eyes regarded him with a wisdom of ages.

"Fae."

He stared at her, eyes wide in shock, wanting to look away but being unable, the demon in him writhing in pain.

He slowly dropped to his knees, still looking up at her.

"What... you're an angel?" he said, unable to think anything else. "Bloody hell."

An intangible touch brought him to his feet and started his heart to beating again.

"Nay. My folk were created later, just before Man. Ye'd probably call us fairies."

His eyes closed and he once again struggled with the implications of a century-old heart starting to beat again, then finally looked up.

"You'll... turn me... n' then what?" he grunted. "What'll I be like?"

"As ye are, but better. Redeemed." Invisible Light flickered around them.

Spike looked at her.

"Well... get on with it, then," he said.

She held out her arm, white wrist bared. "Have at ye."

He stared at it, longing to and afraid to.

"I thought we were gonna get rid of it, not feed it," he mumbled, then sank back to his knees, leaning in and biting, struggling not to go overboard.

Then he tasted her, and fell captive imediatly as he drank, ompletely intoxicated by her sweet, powerful lifeblood. Eventually part of him told him to stop, stop or he'd kill her and never be fixed, but he couldn't. The blood was too sweet, the thirst driving him unending.

Violet winced and closed her eyes, gritting her teeth against the pain and fighting back the urge to blast him out of existence. -Aiiii, Master... gimme strength....-

As the minutes past she sagged, her light fading and dissolving back to her human form, which fell to her own knees though she struggled doggedly to stay upright, listening for the silent signal that it was enough.

He could sense the being weakening, the blood thinning, the life leaving leaving her.

'That's enough, Spike, stop it,' a voice in the back of his head urged him. The demon snarled, and he drank more, but the nagging feeling was creeping up his spine, tugging at his conciousness, and he slowed as his humanity fought his demonic side.

"Keep... goin'," she breathed, leaning against him as her vision darkened.

He blinked, then did as told, still unsure about it, but determined to finish.

Light flared around them, powerful and endless, as the flow of blood stopped. Violet's own light was darkened, her chest heaving as her eyes closed.

-Finished,- she said faintly in his mind.

And now came the very start of the fire.

He jerked away at the sudden light, slightly fearful or it, sheilding his eyes.

"Wot the bloody-" he stopped as something change in him, and his eyes buldged as something spread throughout his body.

Then the pain started, and he grit his teeth, sweating. "Ow... no, stoppit," he groaned as it gradually worsened. "No! Stop!"

Those violet eyes opened for a last time, though they were glazing.

-Walk... in... t' Light.-

Her chest stilled.

He blinked, but dazedly attempted to do so, not noticing when she fell to the ground, consumed with pain, fear, and hope.

There was a swish, and a slight flash, and both of them disappeared from the moonlit grass.
