Patchverse: Night trips

Jubee giggled and Arnold explored her shoulder, nose twitching as he moved. Jubee herself had a large cardboard box of parts she'd found in a dump, playing with the tools she'd bought to try making things without her own hardware. The mess sat on newspapers and stretched over a good five-foot square area of her bedroom floor, beyond which the room was its usual pristine self.

So far she'd managed to make a small assortment of action heros, all standing almost a foot high and made out of various gadgets and parts, some with bent metal plating. She beamed and looked at Pikachu, who had his own small wire-made Arnold Jr. sitting on top of his head.

She looked up, sensing it was getting late. She smiled and wondered if Wolvie wanted her to go with him again to the basement bar they'd been visiting the past four nights.

Logan frowned at himself absently in the mirror, then smirked as he felt Tikvah's arms close around him from behind. "Hey, darlin'. Gonna take the kid t' see Roy 'n the gals."

An intangible kiss graced his cheek and he grinned, then sighed as she let go of him. "Love ya, darlin'."

The little green frog appeared with a pop and clung to his collar as he walked over to Jubilee's room and knocked.

"Come in, Wolvie!" the girl giggled, finishing her Wolvie figurine as she carefully placed a tiny wire cigar in the tin mouth and tried to think of what to make next.

He opened the door and leaned against the frame. "Y' ready ta go, runt?"

"We going to Tom's again?" she asked, putting down the figurine and putting Arnold in his cage. Then she tucked Pikachu and Arnold Jr. into bed and skipped over, grinning.

"Nah." He grinned back and ruffled her hair. "Someplace else this time."

"Cool! Where?" she asked, hugging his waist happily

"It's a surprise." He grinned at her mysteriously. "Butcha might wanna wear somethin' t' dance in."

"Really? Cool!" she giggled and bolted into her wardrobe, and came out a second later in a small but decent set of black rock-n'-roll style clothes and a bunch of silver jewelry. She held out her hands. "This good, Wolvie?" she asked, shrugging black leather vest into a more comfortable position on her shoulders.

He scrutinized it thoughtfully, then nodded as he decided that it looked like what everyone else wore where they were going.

Not that it had gotten him to do much more than put on a clean flannel shirt and his better cowboy hat.

"Yay!" she said, eyes lighting up. She was delighted at his approval, and hurried forward, sliding her hand into his.

Logan chuckled and and brushed her hair back from her face, then looked around as Tikvah bobbed her little froggy head in greeting. "Ya got ever'thin'?"

"Yup!" she chirped, then giggled and bounced eagerly. "I like dancing lots! What kind of music will there be?"

"Loud stuff." He lead her toward the stairs, his mouth quirking slightly as he heard Kurt and K'tara talking as they sat on the flight that led to the upper apartment.

-Gettin' married was good fer the boyscout,- he thought contentedly, feeling Tikvah's agreement.

"Is Kurt and his wife coming too?" she asked curiously, ears perking.

"Y' reckon they oughtta?" He paused to look down at her.

"It would be funny to see Kurt dance," she giggled. "And he's too serious sometimes."

He shook his head with a chuckle. "He don't dance like they do where we're goin', darlin'. He's more like ta sit 'n jaw, like me."

"Then I'll make him dance, just like I'll make you," she smirked and stuck her tongue out at him. "Can we invite them, Wolvie, please? Pretty please?"

"No ya won't. I ain't goin' in no mosh pit." He grinned right back. "Sure, go ahead."

"We're gonna get to mosh?!?!" she gasped, then cheered and raced up to them. "Kurt! Kurt, you gotta come mosh! Wolvie an' me are going and you and K'tara gotta come too!!!!"

The furry man chuckled as K'tara smiled at Jubilee. "Methinks Grandfather hopes to rest himself and watch as you enjoy yourself in the pit, my fair young friend. An' I fear me I'd fain join him. Grandfather and I are past our moshing years."

"But I'll get trampled if I go in a swirly by myself without you to protect me," she pouted, hugging him. "And then Wolvie'd just get upset."

"I would be honored to to mosh with you, little sister," said K'tara in her soft alto, golden eyes smiling down at her small friend.

"Mosh? Whomosh?" Matt paused in the door above them to quirk his eyebrows quizzically.

"Yay!" she grinned. "I knew you'd be cool, K'tara. Not like these oldies," she stuck her tongue out at Kurt, then looked up. "Wolvie's taking me somewhere to mosh! And Kurt and K'tara are coming too! Wanna come?"

"Sure." He grinned. "Let me change my shirt."

"What is this, a freakin' party?" Logan felt amused as he watched K'tara smile back at Jubilee.
