Saki sat. One hand was over her stomach, the other holding one of her books. The were scattered on the windowseat and floor around her. The sun beat on her gently, and she smiled, looking down at her belly and reaching again for the comfort her husband had impressed upon her about it. It had been extremely hard for her to adjust to the growing belly, and for her to maintain eatting healthy and giving into food cravings, Layka's harsh lessons on body and appearance nagging at her even as she firmly worked to take care of her babe.

She didnt think she would have made it without Jubal, and smiled again as she thought of him. She couldn't wait to hand him his first child.

There was a slight thud that made the window rattle softly and the librarian look up, and then came a masculine giggle a voice proclaiming, "Wall six! Jubal zero! What a Juber."

-You have to be careful,- Saki giggled as her face lit. -You need to learn to land so you can take the baby flying.-

"I can land." He was grinning widely as he appeared next to her. "I just can't get through the window on the first, second, or third try."

Then he held out his arms.

She hurried to him, grinning and snuggling against him.

"The baby's been missing you," she smiled. "And I have too."

"Yeah?" He kissed her, then looked down with dancing eyes as he put a hand on her rounded belly.

"Yeah," she grinned, putting her forehead to his neck and a hand over his.

"Hmm." He waited a moment, then moved his hand slightly. "Sleeping? Or hiding?"

"Hiding," she giggled, putting her hand on the other side. Almost at once the was a small kick at Jubal's hand.

"Heh!" His grin lit up again. "Heyya, baby dude, I hear ya missed me?"

There were more kicks, then a snuggle, and Saki smiled.

"I think he said yes," she said softly.

He chuckled and snuggled Saki closer, then lifted his head and looked at the books. "What're you learning today, babe?"

"It's a book on abnormal psych and how cultures can encourage bad mental patterns," she smiled. "Very interesting.... but it's a little scarey."

"Yeah." He blinked and sobered slightly. "I bet it is."

"But I think I understand now, what happened to Layka, and the children," she said. Then more softly she added "And me."

Then she brightened. "I've read about people who help the mind... doctors fr the head, alled psychiatrists. Perhaps the children could use some, maybe Layka, get the bad culture out of her head and maybe she'll be happy?"

"There are people talking to the kids." He nodded. "They've been adopted into a K'vk Clan."

"Good," she brightened. "And Layka too?"

"Yes. Though she's not really sure what to think of how they treat her. And every time I've seen one of the K'vk kids call her 'my Aunt' she looks kind of surprised."

"Yes. It must be very different," she nodded and smiled.

"Yeah," he said thoughtfully. Then he looked down at her again. "Do you want to come and see?"

"Yeah," she grinned happily.

"Okay!" He kissed her on the cheek, then let go of her and swatted at Apple and Clarice. "I'll go let Blade know where we'll be."

"Alright," she smiled. "I'll tidy this up."

A last grin, and another swat at his retainers, and he vanished.

"I can do that, my lady," said the gnomish librarian gently as she walked over. "You go ahead and get ready for your outing."

"Oh... alright. Thank you," Saki grinned and hurried away to go find some suitable clothing for leaving the castle.

Apple swooped around her head a few times, then darted across the hall to she and Jubal's chambers, where he dipped low so that Clarice could poke Puffball and make him squeak.
