Saki lay on the bed, Puffball snuggled under her chin, her half of the luxurious sleeping place almost invisible under books and notebooks, though at the moment she was taking a breaking, snuggled deep in the folds of her bedding, her hands resting over her swollen stomach.

The baby would be coming soon, and she was completely holed up in her room. Moving around simply took too much, and she was worried about hurting the child if she tripped or misjudged the closeness of a table top.

So now she lay, studying in the day and snuggling in against Jubal at night, enjoying his pressence and the time she could spend learning last minute tidbits about childcare.

Jubal's eyes were unconsciously wide as he carried the plate of blue jello up from the kitchen. He'd just learned the hard way that jello didn't teleport very well, but had quickly cleaned up the stain and gone back to the cook with an appealing grin to get another portion. The elderly man had shaken his head at him, but supplied a second helping of the treat, complete with strawberry garnish and a piping of delicately pink whipped cream.

"Hey, babe," he said without taking his gaze from it. "You hungry?"

She looked up, then broke into a grin.

"Is that blue raspberry?" she asked eagerly.

"Yup!" He grinned back, eyes dancing at her delight as he brought it over to the bed.

"Thank you!" she beamed. "I was just wishing for some... ohh, look at the creme!"

She moved some books aside eagerly, inviting him to side beside her.

"Careful..." he coached himself as he did so. "Careful, Lee, don't drop this one. Careful...."

Saki giggled and kissed his cheek, relieving him of the dish.

"Is there a new spot on one of the carpets?" she asked innocently, taking a bit and revelling in it and then offering im a bite.

"No." He grinned with embarrassment. "It was on me."

Then he took the bite and sighed. "Mmmm."

Saki giggled softly, then touched his cheek. "You should avoid being blue. You are handsome just as you are," she teased softly.

Jubal just laughed and gently dabbed cream on her nose.

"Hey!" she protested, then wiped the icing off her nose and licked it, smiling and relaxing. "So good...."

"Almost as sweet as you." His grin went cheesy.

"Silly. I am not sweet, I can't be," she giggled and snuggled against him.

"Sweetest girl I know." He kicked off his boots and lay down beside her with his back to the headboard.

She smiled and snuggled against him.

"You are the sweetest man I know. Perhaps that is why we work so well together."

He put an arm around her and kissed her hair, then teasingly made as though to put more cream on her nose. "Yup. Cavity city."

She giggled and caught the finger with her mouth instead, sucing all the cream off before giving him a kiss... and sticking some behind his ear.

"Bleah!" He flinched and nearly levitated off the bed, but stopped himself and settled for laughing as he cleaned up the mess.

"That's what you get," she giggled, snuggling against him. "Truce?"

"I didn't know we were at war!" He blinked at her and wibbled just slightly.

She blinked, then shivered.

"I didn't mean that," she said, blinking tears back rapidly as she fought against the surge of hormones.

"Hey, hey." The wibble got worse as he gently wiped away the tears and sent her love through their link. "Don't cry, my chica."

"I'm sorry," she sniffed. "I just... I was just kidding, and now I'm all hormonal and upset and I don't mean to be...." She hid her face in his shirt.

He kissed her on the forehead and set the rest of the desert on the night table as he slid down on the bed so that he could turn on his side and hold her. "I know. Shhhh, babe. Listen... baby's awake and talkin'."

She wiped her eyes and snuggled against him, closing her eyes and nodding.

"He knows his mommy's being silly," she said softly.

Jubal stroked her hair and lay his cheek against her head, his mouth turning up at the corners as he heard their unborn son indignantly informing her that she was bestest of all.
