Nexus. Blackout's base. Listening to the coal.
"Pink, it really bothers me when you do that."
The little femme looked up from where she was knocking all of Beamrider's books off the shelf, as though wondering who he was and what he'd done with her creator.
"Some of them could break. And then I'd feel bad because I couldn't read them anymore."
Pink's expression went to 0_o and she beeped to herself uncertainly. "You usually just yell."
"Yelling's wrong." Beamrider turned the page in his holo-book.
"Yeah... so?"
"So I shouldn't have been doing it, and I'm sorry." He closed the book and set it aside as he looked at her.
Pink stared at him, trying to figure out what to say about this.
Beamrider sighed and kicked himself. "Do you want a hug?"
Pink's optics went absolutely enormous.
Beamrider blinked, and then unconciously mirrored her expression. "What's wrong? Uh... you don't need to have a hug if you don't want one.... I'm sorry?"
And then Pink was clinging to him, her beeping making it clear that she was crying stormily.
"Hey...." Beamrider felt like he was going to cry himself. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's okay. Please don't cry."
She fell silent finally, still clinging, then lifted her head and looked at him. "I just didn't want you to be mean anymore."
He sighed. "I was scared. I just came online myself not that long ago.... I didn't want the responsibility of programming someone new. I'm sorry."
"You're just saying this because you don't like your coal."
"No. The coal helped me see I was being a glitch. It actually tastes pretty good."
Pink once more went 0_o
"No, really. Here, I'll show you. And it's even better in energon." He let go of her and gently pushed her away, then went to grab the lump of carbon. "I think purer stuff would taste better, but still...."
Pink perked up and followed him out to the main room, and under the casual gazes of Hormah and Scarecrow the two Minicons were soon happily swigging sweet fuel as Beamrider told his creation about some of the things he'd read in his books.
