Nexus. Blackout's kingdom. Hawks and mechs.

((Starts here.))

Katydid looks around curiously as they leave the more lived in parts of the Nexus and enter a world of red rock badlands, her brown optics brightening and her antennae twitching. It's a strange place to a little bug who lives in a swamp, but it also looks like the kind of place that a Seeker would like to live.

Except maybe Sundog. He's looking around warily from where he's being held in Kickback's arms, his ruby optics huge in his thin face as he eyes the open sky above them uneasily.

"..."

"Uh...no. She thinks the big scary metal people are after her nest. Hangon, I'll try and clear up the misunderstanding."

Daimon closes his eyes and starts radiating waves of soothing emotion. Attack? Where? Big grazers don't attack. Wandering people don't attack.

Underneath it all, he gives the golden bird a small but pointed subconscious poke, showing the image of Sundog cowering.

(You just scared your own kid. BAD.)

He continues radiating calm as he sends a thread of consciousness out, looking for the bird's mate.

Ow! *Kickback complains* Leave the antennae alone please! *he complains not happy in the least but agreeing to leave it to Damion*

*he decides to comfort Sundog and Katydid instead of trying to get the bird back for that* It's okay. I'm fine; seriously a little organic bird isn't going to damage me that much and I wont let ANYONE hurt either of you. Now calm down and relax a little.

*Kickback blinks* Heh fluffy *he mutters more to himself than anyone else*

*His optics glance over to the place where the bird call came from* Shall we head that way then? *he asks...not really wanting to move on without asking. Sunstreaker may not have hurt him much but it was annoying.*

At least the sight was amusing enough to take the edge off Daimon's anger. Having startled the bird away from his companions, Daimon sends out waves of soothing emotion. "Wish my kid was here. He's better at animals than I." His eyes flicker orange-red as he focuses.

"Skywarp's on the eggs. She'll go nuts if we get too near 'em. Let's let her get her composure before we get any closer; once they switch off she'll be calmer anyway. It might just be me, but he seems to have somewhat more of a grasp of himself."

*Kickback just nods* I'll take your word for it pal. *he replies holding onto the youngling in his arms his protective instincts blaring at him*

Works for me; I'm more than happy to wait for her to calm down anyhow. I haven't seen them in a while so I don't know how they're coping. *he replied giving the bird a slightly annoyed look*

"They're...not coping. By which I mean, they've adapted to their lives as falcons, but they're buried in those lives."

Daimon ducks slightly and laughs as his curls get boinged. "Hey! Heh-heh-heh..." The laugh is mostly for the bots' benefit, since he figured the one hawk-cry probably wasn't that different from the other for them.

"Hey you! That's my sweetie's handle, not to line your nest." His voice is calm and friendly. "And look. Look who I brought."

So they've lost who they were. *Kickback replies tilting his head slightly; oh he knows how that feels...oh well at least in his case he didn't get turned into an actual grasshopper he'd just thought he was one.*

*Kickback tenses slightly as Skywarp dives at them* ...should have known *he mutters to himself; as he relaxes. Of course Skywarp was playing; the idiot was always doing dumb things.*

*Looking at Sundog he murmurs to the seekerling* If you want to leave at any time during this, all you have to do is say the word. I wont think any less of you because of it. *not that he wanted to leave but Kickback didn't want Sundog to over exert himself and he knew the youngling was stubborn.*

"Looks like I'm up." Daimon radiates reassurance as he carefully reaches for the bird's mind. **Easy. Take it easy, Skywarp. It's time to remember a little. I'll help.**

There have to be positive and friendly associations with these Insecticons somewhere in Skywarp's head, to go along with his emotions toward his son. Daimon very carefully searches for these and starts playing connect-the-dots between them and the beings the falcon is seeing now. Sweat starts beading on his forehead from the effort of being as gentle and subtle about this as possible.

*Kickback watches intently; he feels Sundog's grip and doesn't say anything about it. If it comforts the younger then he would allow almost anything.*

*He watches ready to bolt if he needs to; after all Kickback's more concerned for the youngling in his arms than the staring falcon.*
