Ghosts don't really need to recharge.

Swindle was still getting used to that fact when he turned the emitter back on with the first rays of light. Being 'awake' didn't bother him so much, he had plans and ideas to keep his mind occupied.

"Odd I recharge in the Dream, but not here," he said to himself, as he glanced over from where he sat, watching Zoe and Silver still snoozing away.

Swindle nods, and lets the Nroo lead him to the firework-makers stall.

It's a proper little shop, built from stone, and possessing a real glass window guarded by bars of some clear material. On the window, in curly letters, it proudly proclaims, "Starka Fwee, alchemist."

Inside it's cool and has a slight sulfurous smell that makes Silver sneeze and forget about her hiccups. A yellow and blue Nroo turns slightly from where she's grinding things in a mortar. "Hello! How may I help you?"

"Yes, I was interested in fireworks, for a friend," Swindle says, considering that the three of Blitzwing might like them, not just Hothead. Random would like the shiny nature of them, at least.

"Alright." She sets her pedestal down and turns toward him more fully. "What sort would you like? Something simple? Or something more elaborate? Are you wanting toys, or a show? Or signals?"

"Elaborate," Swindle said, he was sure of that. The fancier the gift, the less he'd be squished into a ball. Ok, they only did that once, but still..."..and what's the difference between toys and a show?"

"Toys are things you set off for amusement. A show is a set of fireworks made to go together, and they cost a great deal more."

Swindle is now tilting his head, trying to decide just how expensive this 'gift' need to be, "How much would a show normally cost?" he asks.

"For something simple, with two showers, six assorted rockets, and some twirlers in various colour mixes... nine hundred dek." She absently mashes a cockroach that decides to try sneaking across the floor just then.

"And I don't have that much dek," Swindle mutters, annoyed more at his lack of local currency--and lack of knowing exactly what the locals WOULD buy-- than anything else. He silently vowed that he'd be prepared the next time he was here as he searched through the pack of goods, "Perhaps a trade," Swindle continues, making sure not to take out any more of those 'baubles', "..erm, and the prices of the toys. Just in case."

"A good, memorable rocket that makes its own little show is three hundred dek. Normal rockets are a hundred. Showers are three. Twirlers are fifty. Common rockets are thirty. Flashers are ten. And Lu smackers are three. I don't sell the the little things that just go of with a bang."

Swindle nods, taking note of the prices as he pulls out a few things--something that looked like a power wench, some type of clamp with a digital display attached, a calculator with a tiny solar panel in it, a lamp, though Swindle had no idea what it was, just a funny ceramic thing with metal and a wire sticking out of it. Stuff he'd normally consider junk...

Starka seems to be watching him, though without anything remotely resembling a humanoid face it's a little hard to tell. "I had better tell you up front that I usually deal in dek, and that I'm not interested in the usual trade goods. Nroo don't wear clothing or eat food like the meat people do."

"Slag..." Swindle says as he puts the stuff away. "Perhaps I'll come back at a later time, if I can trade this stuff elsewhere." Or find something else for Blitzwing.
