Z'verse 3. Zoe's Room . Second Day of Shopping.

Ghosts don't really need to recharge.

Swindle was still getting used to that fact when he turned the emitter back on with the first rays of light. Being 'awake' didn't bother him so much, he had plans and ideas to keep his mind occupied.

"Odd I recharge in the Dream, but not here," he said to himself, as he glanced over from where he sat, watching Zoe and Silver still snoozing away.

"In about six hours." She looks up at the low hanging clouds and their drizzle. "It might even be clear by then."

"That sounds perfect," Swindle says, then returns, "What can you have done by nightfall?"

Starka has her young assistant busily hauling out supplies as a small human girl works hard with a huge mortar and pestle, grinding bits of rock into powder. The things that Swindle is offering in trade are laying neatly by his feet.

"By nightfall?" Starka turns from where she was taking out supplies herself as she used two tentacles to hold and write on a wax tablet. "I think I can make something... passable by then. It won't be anything truly spectacular, though."

"It will suffice," Swindle says, "We'll be leaving soon after, I believe." Or at least he's sure Blitzwing will be wanting to go as soon as they get back.

"Very well. How many dek do you want besides?"

Swindle still has no idea how much dek the stuff would be worth. He calculates the amount, then says, "Five Hundred..." fully expecting the Nroo to haggle it down.

"That's all?" Her lights blink. "Alright. Deal."

"Deal," Swindle said with a grin. The stuff must be worth more to the Nroo than he thought. Ah, well, the stuff's nearly pure profit anyway.

Of course, getting more would probably mean delaying their departure from Earth. Ah, well, he'd waited that long.

Starka turns and rolls into the back, then returns with a coarse hemp bag, from which she carefully counts out the black tiles. Then she scoops up the electronics and vanishes again.

Swindle was moving he rest of his knicknacks and other things to one knapsack so he'd have a place to put just Dek.

There's a small cracking sound from back behind the curtain, and when Starka comes back to help her smaller assistant reach something from a top shelf she's moving in a markedly more spry manner.

Swindle smiles as he gathers up the dek now, "A pleasure doing business with you," he says, and turns to go find Zoe.

The tall green femme is coming to look for him as he steps out into the rain again, and smiles when she sees him. "How did it go?"

"It...went rather well, I think," Swindle says, "Though I'd like to get something else, just in case. I know Hothead and Random will enjoy the show, but..."
