ANH 'verse. Tatooine. A Mission Complete?

He was back on the ship. He must have been. This was not merely something that need a tune-up. It was a victim, and it had all the battle damage to prove it!

"What the heck did you guys do to this thing?!? I can barely tell one part from another!"

His on-board equipment had been fixed from his earlier "scuffle" by now--for which he was glad because this thing need all the help it could get!

And then the Tuskan Raiders freeze as a mighty ululating roar booms through the canyon. They look around quickly, and then they're off, bounding up the canyon walls to vanish into the distance.

The roar causes him to start again, and he has trouble pulling air through his air intakes.

When the Raiders run off, he stares at them, flabbergasted.

Something else comes barreling down the canyon, to transform and throw itself at Random, strong small arms wrapping around his middle.

"Are you okay?" asks a sobbing Kia.

The running Raiders have caught his attention, so he jumps again when something grabs him and he tries to get away at first before he doubletakes.

"K-Kia?" He was still having a hard time breathing.

The little femme is clinging to him, her cries holding a panicky, frightened note. Seeing her mentor in danger, it had been all that the mech she'd come to report to could do to hold her back, and now all her fright is pouring out.

His embrace is suddenly around her as he is sure it is her and begins to slowly rock her back and forth even as he tries to recover from his own fear. "I'm h-here. I g-got ya."

"Your friend looks like he could use a little help," says a deep voice that holds a trace of amusement. Kia squeaks and looks up as a shadow falls over them.

A huge mech draped in a bulky poncho looks back down at her, the bullroarer he'd used to scare off the Sand People still dangling from one hand, which is all that can be seen of him other than his head.

"Ah--!" Random starts again, instinctively pulling Kia closer to him.

"Who--who're you?"
