ANH 'verse. Dagobah. Squishy Landings

When they exited hyperdrive and he looked at the read-out from the computer, Random had to shutter and unshutter his optics. This couldn't be right. This couldn't be the planet. There was no mech in the entire universe who'd want to live here. At least not a sane one.

Random turned in his seat and shook Hot Shot. "Hot Shot! Wake up! You gotta see this!"

Only the sounds of the creatures in the marsh could be heard for several minutes until Random's form broke the surface some distance away and he grabbed onto one of the trees.

"Or not," Random says, embarrassed and opening his intakes and various panels on his arms to let the water out.

"Aw, mech... eewwww!" says Hot Shot, relieved to see that the Astrotech is alright.

Then he starts and looks to the side as he catches a glimpse of sinuous movement. "Watch out!"

"Heh, heh," Random laughs dryly. "What I was trying to avoid."

Random pushes off of the tree and makes his way to the shore. "I think I'll--What?!?"

Random spins around just in time for something beneath the surface to drag him under.

The Star Saber leaps into his hand as the young padwan jumps back into the water, his sensors on high as he searches for the threat. "Random??"

Nothing. No reply. Just the normal noises of this swampy planet.

Wait.

There's some movement over there and--

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Something that used to be very blue is now very dirty as it gets spits out from the water and fllllllllliiiiiiiies way over there into the trees.

Hot Shot stares, dumbstruck. But then he barrels out of the water and goes in pursuit.

If Hot Shot is quick enough, he will see Random temporarily tangled up in vines before they break and he falls onto the rooted ground below with a Thud!

"Aww mech...." The young mech kneels beside the fallen astrotech. "How bad is it?"

The question seems to fall on deactivated audios as Random just shakily intakes and stares up at the tree canopy in shock. However, he is obviously covered in dents, despite the mud, and there are a few bite marks causing him to leak in a few places. At first glance, it doesn't appear that he has joint problems.

Hot Shot knows better than to touch his friend when he's in this kind of state. Instead the yellow mech shuts his optics off and concentrates on the leaking areas, his face showing intense concentration as the leaking slows and stops.

Random doesn't seem to notice as his optic shutters droop and he inadvertently starts giving in to his body's need to recharge and reboot.

Hot Shot's soon kicking himself for trying to repair three injuries at once, but he perseveres and is soon able to leave those be and start on the next ONE. As he works the Star Saber separates and the three Minicons take up guard positions.

Normally, nothing would get him to calm down, but Random's systems win this time as he actually does slip into a deep recharge.

And it would take a lot to get him out of it.
