BW 'verse. Axalon. Faint spark ne're won....
Rhinox scowled through the window of the CR chamber, his optics narrowed as he studied the Maximal inside. Primal's mentor was weak, it would be a few days in the chamber and then a few more of rest before Codeak was up and around again.
Rhinox wasn't sure he wanted him up.
The green mech didn't like to admit it, but his first impulse had been to adjust things just a little off and watch this troubling messenger from Cybertron quietly fade into the Well of All Sparks. But he wasn't a Predacon. And someone else would probably come after Codeak failed to bring back a report. At least with him they had a chance of having him understand the crew's decision to stay here.
Rhinox hoped.
His scowl deepening, he turned away from the CR chamber, and then nearly jumped out of his skin as he came face to face with Thundermoon. "Ack! Slag! Don't do that."
"I'm sorry!" She jumped back with wide optics, then hesitantly held up a plate. "I... made you some sandwiches."
Rhinox blinked, the scowl changing to surprise and interest as he studied the offering and saw his favorite pickles and sliced vegetables. The wine vinegar mustard was also there, as were the Piperaceae leaves that he liked the best.
"Well.... That was nice of you." He was unaware of his grin as he reached to take the top sandwich from the stack, but Thundermoon saw it and smiled shyly herself.
"You were working hard, so I thought you'd be hungry," said the black fembot.
"Of course, of course." Rhinox munched happily, his concerns about Codeak's presence set momentarily to the back of his mind. "But I thought we'd run out of sweet potatoes and Piper longum leaves."
"We had," said Thundermoon. "I went and got some."
"Did you?" The Maximal second in command paused and lifted his brow ridges, looking at the fembot curiously.
"Yes, sir." She blushed slightly under that quizzical gaze, her own optics looking back at him frankly.
He frowned at what he saw there, the hand with the sandwich lowering. "I'm too old, fat, and cranky to change my ways."
Thundermoon's smile only widened slightly as she offered him the rest of the plate of sandwiches. "I know."
Patting him gently on the chest, she turned and walked away, leaving the befuddled engineer with sandwiches in either hand and confusion in his spark.
