ANH'verse. Millennium Falcon and space station. Smokescreens
"Whaddya mean, we can't dock!?!" Jetfire's bellow of frustration rang on the bridge. "Gimme a good reason! I know your boss!"
"No one is allowed to dock at the moment, sir," came the calm feminine response. "Please move your vessel out of our airspace, and have a nice oorn."
"Why you...!"
"Here." Arcee put a hand on his chest, though she avoided looking up at him. "Let me try."
Kia watched the older bots from where she sat strapped into a seat toward the back of the bridge, her wide optics taking in the subtle shifts of their body language as Arcee attempted to reason with the docking official and Jetfire continued to shout his objections to the femme's refusal to let them dock. The two of them were embarrassed about something that made their faceplates heat up whenever they looked at each other, and they seemed very angry at each other, but confusingly, it was also very clear to her that they liked each other a lot.
Browplates drawn together with confusion, she looked down at the black Minicon who was snuggled in her arms.
Murphy just shrugged, and then winced as Jetfire let out another bellow of ire.

"Now I know why you guys were being so quiet the other day." Arcee glances at the Minicon bemusedly, but then smiles and falls into step with Smokescreen. "It's going to feel good to have a home again."
"Aww, sweetheart, don't be that way," says Jetfire sadly from behind them. "C'mon, smile fer ol' Jets?"

Smokescreen chuckles as he continues to lead the way. "You folks been traveling a lot?"
He stops as he comes up to a door with intricate markings all along the face of it. There are others like it along the hall, but each is unique in its own way. This one embodies symbols of peace and hope.
"She looks as tired as I'm sure you all feel, Jetfire," Smokescreen says, hardly glancing at the details on the door as he slides one of the keypasses into the slot next to the door. "And I think I have the cure right behind this door."
As the door swishes open, orange light shimmers from above briefly for a few moments before the electric light takes over, revealing a room as white, pure, and clean as the rest of the station Arcee and the others have seen. Upon a closer look, they can see that above is a sky light in the shape of a dome, from which the orange light had originated and that this light is from the quickly receding Sun outside.

Comettor snerks softly, then points upward. [Look, the sunset is so pretty.]
"Sunset..." Arcee looks up. "Ohhhh."
"Look, Kia. Lookit... awww, don't cry, sweetheart," comes from behind them.
no subject
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Smokescreen asks after the others have admired the sunset, strolling along a wall containing a large window. "But the real pride and joy in these rooms is the sunrise." He indicates the darken window with his hand. "It doesn't look like much now, but in the morning you can see one of the most beautiful sunrises this part of the universe has to offer, unobstructed by any of the stations' other buildings. . . . Makes me think that the designers were optimists."
Smokescreen walks back over to where Arcee and the others are. "But I think I've taken up enough of your time for right now. It looks like you all could use some rest and relaxation after your long journey." Smokescreen offers Arcee the keypasses, as she seems to be the one that will be in charge once Jetfire leaves.
He then turns to Jetfire, face falling into a look of compassion as he looks down at Kia before he quietly says, "I'll let you know about the 'Falcon once Liftor's sent the report. Still at the same frequency?"
no subject
"Yeah, Smokie," says Jetfire distractedly, his optics brighter than they should be as his distress rises at sight of Kia's continued unhappiness. "You were just talkin' ta me, remember."
Even Murphy looks away from Kia this time. He stares at Jetfire, and then beeps that Smokescreen was talking about the ship.
"Uhhuh, I know." Jetfire tries cuddling Kia to see if that helps her mood.
no subject
"Right," Smokescreen replies, not able to hide his concern over how Jetfire completely missed his attempt at stealth. "I remember." He turns his head to make Kia the object of his concern before something comes to his attention.
"Oh!" Smokescreen turns back to Arcee. "Would you like me to give a keypass to Makeshift for when he wants to turn in?"
no subject
Comettor razzes her and crosses his arms over his chest with a little huff.
And now Jetfire's talking about baths, and bubbles, but Kia just isn't interested.

Feeling that he has stayed long enough, Smokescreen says, "Well, I should be going. Liftor will be yelling at me for leaving him with all the work."
Smokescreen walks over to the door. "If you need anything, Jet's got my frequency, and Crystal can be reached via the intercom on the wall over there." Smokescreen points to said intercom before opening the door. "Have a good rest cycle!"
no subject
"Huh?" Jetfire blinks, and then waves to his friend. "Bye, Smokie. Don't be a stranger."
no subject
Smokescreen stops halfway in the door, smiling. "Heh. We'll have to see. A lot's change since we last met. I've got a lot more than just me and Liftor to worry about." His smile seems to waver before Smokescreen gives a loose salute and leaves the room, the door swishing shut behind him.
