Hunter-'verse. A park in Helena, Montana. Down time

Mary ducked as the ball whizzed past her ear, then went after it and returned the favor by trying to take her Uncle Sam's head off with it. It was returned with similar velocity, though kinder aim, whereupon she fired it in her other uncle's direction, hoping to catch him off guard since they'd been ignoring him for a few minutes.

"Yeah...." She sets down the spoon and leans her forehead on her hand for a moment as the protein and other nutrients of the soup hits her system, then picks up the juice and drinks some more of it instead.

"Yeah," she mutters. "It's just the beestings try to shut everything down 'n the Epi-pen gets everything going really fast, so the food's making my head a little weird."
