Backwater Nexus. Mall. Let's Rock and Ride!

Lucy approaches the mall with just a little trepidation, smoothing out her dress (bright green with yellow flowers on the skirt -- and it's just over knee length, so a certain little pitcher needn't worry if she's around tonight) and making sure her hair is pulled back neatly in its ponytail. Silver's mention of the Rock N Ride nights at the mall stuck with her even after her return to her own world. So, after a rather annoying day trying to make sure her passport was up-to-date, she's decided it's time to seek out some fun and see what else this Nexus has to offer. "Just hope they accept regular old American dollars," she mumbles, patting her purse by her side as she reaches the front entrance. (Nothing in her vast array of literature suggested they wouldn't, but discretion, valor, etc.)

Rhea chuckles, but then looks around as cheers and outright yells of fright come from the crowd around them. "Oh, there's Dreadnought. The music's going to be good tonight."

Uzulee turns and watches as the fifty foot tall, shining black baytech Transformer picks his way delicately through the humans, big feet sliding slowly so that everyone has time to get out of his way. "Sweet. Good music and eye candy. He's a pretty darn cute kid."

Says the woman who doesn't look a day over 21.

Lucy turns and looks too, marveling as the Transformer (and hey, it looks kind of like the ones she's most familiar with!) walks through the crowd. "He's the DJ, I take it?" she says, wondering what sort of mix table a Transformer uses. "Wild."

She glances over at Uzlee. "Have a taste for the metallic?" she says, unable to resist just a little joking around.

"Nope, he plays guitar." Uzulee shakes her head. "Nah. I'm a platonic. But if you met the kid you'd see what I meant. He's freakishly personable for a giant machine of mass destruction."

"Oooooh." Now that'll be an interesting sight. She hasn't heard the term "platonic" used in that way before, but it's easy enough to figure out. "I ran into a few of the giant robot variety my last visit here. They were really nice."

Uzulee perks. "Which ones? Do you know their names?"

And up above and ahead of them Dreadnought calls out in a deep and mellow voice, laughing as he asks the gate guards if he can just step in.

"Optimus and Major Sam Walker," Lucy says. "Though the Optimus was actually a -- Guardian Fae Dragon," she adds after a moment to make sure she's got the name right. "And Sam mentioned something about being human once? Or getting the same memories, at least. . ."

"Oh. Those guys." Uzulee laughs. "Yeah. Some would say the Major was human once, though others say he's based on the human. My buddy Sweet William calls him a memory of Major walker."

"Did Big Oppy give you any pizza?" Rhea chuckles, her grey eyes dancing.

"Well, he was really friendly, whoever he might have been once," Lucy says. "Gave me some good tips for getting along in here -- and pretty much every piece of literature you could read about this place."

Lucy giggles. "That's a thing with him then? Yeah -- I got a deep-fried ham-and-pineapple one, with lotus root and natural cola."

"The Major gave you the lit?" asks Uzulee curiously. "Or Oppy did?" Then she laughs, the sound straight from her belly. "Great, now I'm even hungrier."

"You'll live." Rhea rolls her eyes, smirking, then looks at Lucy. "If you like food, you're going to enjoy the party. Most the safe vendors of the Nexus have booths in there. Including Swindle Co."

Then she winces and sticks a finger in her ear as Kingda goes over again and Uzulee yells approval.

"Sort of a combination," Lucy chuckles. "The Major was telling me where to get it, and Optimus passed by with a convenient number of pamphlets."

"Yeah, that's where Optimus said he worked for," she nods. "I'll have to see what they have up here." She winces a little too as Uzulee starts yelling again. Well, if she doesn't go half-deaf first. . .

"Knowing Optimus, he probably made them just for you." Rhea cheerfully kicks Uzulee in the butt, then sticks out her tongue as the smaller woman turns on her with a quick flash of a scowl that turns to reciprocal face making. "The kid's got a thing against leaving anyone unhelped if he can help it."

"Do you know how derpy that just sounded, Rhea?" Uzulee snerks, her eyes dancing again.

"Thrrpt." Rhea wrinkles her nose.

"I wouldn't be surprised either," Lucy nods, raising an eyebrow at the pair's antics. She and her friends back home roughhouse some too sometimes, but she doesn't think any of them have ever kicked another in the rear. "I got that sort of vibe from him. Still, on a first trip, good to meet someone so helpful, right?"

"Yes." Rhea throws an absent arm around Uzulee's neck as the little brunette suddenly shifts form to a little (well, Uzulee size) blue sabertooth cat and tries to kitty kiss her on the nose. "Optimus makes the lives of the professional helpers, like this derp, easier."

Uzulee just wriggles and tries to carry out operation kitty kiss.

And Ruhamah? She's just quietly making sure the whole group keeps moving toward the gate.

Lucy starts a little at the abrupt transformation, blinking a few times. Oh -- well, good thing she had practice before with meeting shapeshifters. "Yeah, I -- I bet he does," she says, nodding as she recovers.

Good thing someone's on top of that -- Lucy's distracted enough that she'd probably forget all about moving forward in line.
