Backwater Nexus. Mall. Let's Rock and Ride!

Lucy approaches the mall with just a little trepidation, smoothing out her dress (bright green with yellow flowers on the skirt -- and it's just over knee length, so a certain little pitcher needn't worry if she's around tonight) and making sure her hair is pulled back neatly in its ponytail. Silver's mention of the Rock N Ride nights at the mall stuck with her even after her return to her own world. So, after a rather annoying day trying to make sure her passport was up-to-date, she's decided it's time to seek out some fun and see what else this Nexus has to offer. "Just hope they accept regular old American dollars," she mumbles, patting her purse by her side as she reaches the front entrance. (Nothing in her vast array of literature suggested they wouldn't, but discretion, valor, etc.)

The boy looks, and then laughs. "Scarlett ain't in no danger, lady. Neither's Kumori. They're Aerialbots. Right, Ryan?"

"Huh?" A tall Asian kid with an honest smile and a look that combines a child's innocence with something much older and quiet glances over from where he'd been watching a man and woman dance. "Oh. Yes, ma'am. You don't need to worry about Aerialbots. Well, none of the ones here today." He looks around. "I don't see or hear any Fireflights."

"Wait -- the woman's a -- what am I saying, the first ones I met were in human form," Lucy interrupts herself, shaking her head. "I'll take your word for it." She bites her lip at the name "Fireflight" -- that doesn't sound like something she'd like to meet. She's got enough issues with fire as it is. "Good to know they're not around then. . . My name's Lucy, by the by. Lucy Leech."

"I'm a Transformer too." Ryan's grin is as gentle and apologetic as it is sparkling with happiness. "Ryan Ruteger, aka Ridgeback. This is Raoul Trach. And you don't need to be afraid of Fireflights. They just tend to get distracted and run into things sometimes."

"There's a 'Flight, Dogman." Raoul points to where a bot of bay construction is sitting and contentedly drinking a bottle of something bright blue as a massive silver and white bot with shuttle kibble sits beside him. Both bots are watching the dancers and singers with enjoyment, and the larger bot is dancing a six foot tall baby on his lap.

"Of course you are," Lucy says with a laugh. "I really should have guessed, given that I keep running into them lately. . . Nice to meet you Ryan -- and you too, Raoul." She nods a couple of times. "I see -- sorry, it's just you made it sound like they were the 'meanies' of the group, so to speak."

She looks over to Raoul is pointing. "Ahhhh. . .looks like they're having fun, at least. The music here is something else, I gotta say," she adds, grinning.

Ryan blinks, and then looks a bit troubled. "I did? I didn't mean to. Fireflights are never mean."

"Just spacy," says Raoul without mockery or judgement. Then he gives a laughing battle cry and runs through the crowd to kick what looks like a slightly older version of himself on the butt and be chased away among the dancers.

"I love this music," Ryan meanwhile says, agreeing with Lucy as he watches the shenanigans of the two Raouls.

"It's all right, not your fault," Lucy says, holding up a hand. "I just misunderstood. Don't worry about it."

She snorts at Raoul's statement, then blinks as he -- huh. Well then. Not something you see every day, but then you could say that for just about everything that's happened today.

"They're doing a great job performing," Lucy agrees, then nods toward the Raouls. "Brothers, or something way more complicated?" She's guessing the latter, but you never know!

"Alternates." Ryan's grin grows as Puerto Rican Spanish swearing comes faintly back to him. "And friends. We call them alter-brothers."

Lucy can't help a little snicker. "Alternates. . . Same basic person, different universes? I guess in a place that's supposed to be a meeting place for all universes, you'd get those. At least they get along. Mostly." Lucy has no idea how she'd react upon seeing an alternate of herself. She supposes it would have to do with what kind of person the alternate was.

"Yup." Ryan's eyes twinkle. "Most the alternates I've seen get along pretty well. Except the Jetfires. The old ones try to hit the younger ones with their canes."

"Well, that's good." Lucy snerks at the mental image of an old Jetfire chasing around a younger one shouting things like 'dagnabit.' (She's weird, if that wasn't blindingly obvious.) "I hope I'd get along with any other mes." Although she admits, she'd probably be just a pinch jealous of any who were smarter about the whole "power reveal" business and managed not to get themselves committed.
