DK-Verse, Coruscant: Why Jedi Shouldn't Play With Black Boxes

"You'd think I'd have learned my lesson," Sadri said with a groan, holding the black box tightly in her hand. Sal had warned her to never push the red button, and Sadri, being herself, had promptly... pushed the red button.

And now she was here in a very familiar city.

Oh my goodness...

It was Coruscant.

She looked around the familiar vista and tried to calm the hammering of her heart as she cursed the black box and her own curiosity.

Sadri just watched, bringing her beer to her lips and drinking deeply.

She had the feeling she might need it today.

"Have you also heard what Anikin is doing with your new speeder?" asked Pru mildly, relaxing again in her chair.

Obi-Wan stiffened. "He's supposed to be meditating."

Pru just chuckled, then sighed as he got to his feet and strode from the bar.

Sadri watched him go, still not lowering her beer. Once he actually left the building, she placed her glass on the table. "That was interesting," she said.

"Something happened to him in your... world?" asked Pru softly, lifting her own drink and sipping.

"For one, I knew him well. For another, they're all dead."

Pru paused, then set down her glass, eyes suddenly glistening slightly. "Oh."

"Yes." Sadri took another drink. "Everyone. Except me."

"How did it happen?" From Pru's intent look it's clear that the real question is, 'How do I keep it from happening?'

"The Grand Army of the Republic," she said, "turned on the Jedi. My mother-in-law said that it had something to do with Chancellor Palpatine's coup..."

She sighed. "Of course, you may not even have a GAR, so I'm not sure how you could prevent such an occurrence."
