Porthos kicked at a dummy used for wrestling, glaring and hating it with every ounce of his being.

"Stupid... undercover scheme... imposter, poser, FAKE," he snarled, punching at it, taking his drunken frustration at not having seen his love in so long. He hated it. He hated everybody here that were foiling his attempts to go see Brenda again. He hated...... no. He loved Brenda. He missed her, needed her.

Didn't stop him from being mad at her, though.

"I bought some wedding books while I was gone."

He turned and looked at her.

For a moment he remembered when he first asked she marry him. She'd refused and run away, but he'd been so determined... he'd followed, even when she told him it couldn't work. Over the six months he'd seen what she'd meant back then. He couldn't fit in her world, not really. He could pretend, and learn, he could fake it all. But what they did here... he didn't know if he'd ever be able to set aside himself for the life they'd sworn to emerse themselves in.

His hand cupped her cheek, and he leaned up, kissing her gently, a tear falling down his cheek.

"We should do it quickly," he said, looking at her, eyes full of love and longing. "These six months... too long to wait. My princess... we should marry tomorrow, aye, tomorrow!"

She nuzzled against his cheek, then looked up at him. "It'll take at least a week to plan everything."

"No plannin'. We'll get you a pretty dress n' find a minister," he said, shaking his head. "Tomorrow. Not tonight, you need your sleep.

"Porthos... love, I'm not going... to back out."

He looked down.

"Next week, then," he said softly. "But do no more missions or night time adventures until then. Promise me, my precious, please."

"...Really want to put up with me when I'm not patrolling at night?" She quirked an eyebrow, remembering last the last time and how well she'd managed to run him ragged.

"Love... No. I can't. I can't let you go out there again unless you are mine, and I'm yours," he said softly, kissing her knuckles. "Please, stay home for now. Stay with me."
