Kia glances around without turning her head as she walks between Random and the disguised bot who is herding them into this big, stinky, sandy, shady place at gunpoint. The place is loud, smells disgusting, and Random didn't want her seeing what was going on in here, so she's trying not to see too much as she looks for friends, and she's pouting really hard to show that she doesn't want to be here and doesn't like this restraining bolt. She hopes she's a good actor, because she's really so excited that it's all she can do not to be jumping up and down right now, or running back the way they came to poke that brain in a jar that she saw walking past.

"I'm okay, Random." Kia wraps her arms around him and squeezes, her feet going apart and bracing as she feels the deck start to move.

He is . . . just going to rub your head and hug you back Kia. No, he doesn't remember that they're being watched, but maybe that'll make them look all the pitiful, huh?

He does sneak a scan at Jetfire just to make sure the mech hasn't really overexerted himself.

Kia stands there for a bit, watching the sun and shadows flash past the barred opening in the wall, then she looks up at Random. "May I go sit on Jetfire?"

Jetfire... who seems to be laying there pretending to be a lump with his feet up against the bars of the cell and his toes poking out.

Random frowns a bit in confusion but he finally nods and reluctantly lets her go.

Jetfire grunts softly as he feels something press down on his back, then goes o_O into the floor as he wonders just what the heck is going on up there. He continues to lay still, though, trusting that Random and Kia won't get too crazy.

Kia, for her part, gets comfortably seated, then scans Jetfire before looking around and looking convincingly scared. She's nervous, but she knows that this enemy ground is full of friends, and she knows what she put into her subspace while none of the grownups were looking, so right now she's not actually afraid.

Not having Kia with him gives Random the opportunity to look around and down and catch glimpses of himself. He starts when he sees his "mangled" limbs again and then forces himself to breathe deeply before deciding that's not enough. So, he starts to pace a bit.

Fake afraid soon changes to boredom trying to look like despair as she flops over backward on Jetfire and puts her hands over her face, then kicks a little in the air. Squeaky fingertips get dragged down her face then as she makes an incoherent sound.

"Um," a familiar voice speaks up from the other side of the inner wall. "What the heck was that?"

Pacing, pacing. Random's tuned Kia boredom noises out as he gives himself something to do other than worry about what's going to happen next.

So, to have something make noise but not from the places he's expecting?

Random starts horribly, throwing out an arm to catch himself even as his other one goes to his chest. He seems to forget how to breathe for a moment and then he slowly lets out his intakes.

"That was me, Hot Shot." Kia sits up and frowns. "Why didn't you say anything when they brought us in? You just about gave Random a spark attack!"

"I was busy," says Hot Shot in the quiet and slightly shut down voice that he's used since Bespin. "Sorry, Random."

Kia just frowns deeply and looks at her mentor, then jumps down and goes to snuggle against him and try to get a hug.

And there's Random standing there, tapping on his chest chest over his spark--as if that'd slow it down when his hand is twitching so much.

He starts slightly at Kia's touch and then he's hugging her with shakey breathing.

Kia hugs back, offering all the comforts while looking for a little herself and looking like she's trying to hide.

"Don't be scared. They're coming to get us."
