Ramada's adopted reality. Her back yard. A family reunion?
Mykyala took a deep breath and continued the kata she'd started to help her calm down and focus on God, one part of her mind absently wondering at how long Ramada was taking to get the snacks she'd said she was going to get from the kitchen. Behind her Zipporah chattered happily to a doll from the branches of the Mayday tree, talking to it about subjects that went over her mother's head both literally and figuratively.
Mykayla smiled at the chatter, feeling her heart rate settle down and her nerves calm. -Thank You, Father. Thank You for helping me always. And thank You for letting Zipporah meet her biological sisters. Use this whole day for Your Glory.-
Still smiling, she continued her exercise.

Setting the tray down on the nearby patio table, she poured herself a glass of juice and sat on a lawn chair.
Just watching.
She wondered how her friend was feeling given what was going to happen today.

She grabbed a handful of crackers and ate one slowly. "Are they coming here?"

Her voice held no anger, just curiosity and a bit of confusion at the logic.

"Yes..." she said, a bit hesitant.

"And this is Mykayla," Ramada said with a smile, motioning to the smaller woman.

Koperweik cleared her throat and pointed silently toward the thickest part of the foliage, her small red wings rustling slightly as she moved them.

"Sure." Logan looked at his daughter, who was sidling toward the tree, then chuckled slightly and headed for the deck, leaving her be.

"Juice?"

Mykayla cocked her head as she settled into her chair. "You don't want a chair?"
"'Fraid I'd crush it," he said apologetically. "I'm kinda heavy."

"I didn't," said Mykayla softly, also watching the tree. "Her father and mother gave her to me."
"Huh?" He turned to look at her.
Mykayla glanced at Ramada, wanting her to tell part of the story.

"Well, that explains alot," rumbled Charlie's deep voice from where he suddenly stood next to the patio.

"What's this?"

"Oh!" Mykayla clapped her hands. "Congratulations!"

"This means that I'm kind of..." Another blink. "Wow. Congrats on that, but just let it be known you're responsible for breaking my brain."

Logan was just sitting and smirking and nursing his juice as he watched the tree and listened to chatter and laughter from his daughter's sisters.

She tilted her head, likewise listening to the laughter.

And Logan blinked. "You understand that?"
"Of course." The small woman looked up as the other two girls came over, Feurtanzer to glomp Charlie excitedly and Koperweik to hunker gravely beside Logan. "I have an adopted brother and sister in law who are Wüste Fee."
"Wüste Fee?" The ancient warrior blinked. "They're a race?"

"I can live vith dat." Feurtanzer shrugged, her black eyes somber. "I've been living as a mutant for most my life anyhow."
"Mutant?" Koperweik perked her ears.
Logan just frowned, wondering at how the other girls were using the word. It was plain that he knew nothing of the X-gene.

"I'm too little yet," said Zipporah. "Desert Fairies and their subraces usually get it around the age of fifty two standard Earth years, at the same time as they get their wings."
"I had the fire since I was little," said Feurtanzer. "And I never dot wings."
"I'm developing both," said Koperweik softly. "But I'm nearly eighty years old."

Charlie shook his head and looked ruefully at the others. "Something tells me we've lost them for awhile."
"Yup," said Logan. "Y'ain't gittin' Koper away fr'm folk as talk her talk. She's more interested in makin' machines, but this' explains who 'n what she is."
Mykayla just shook her head and proposed a game of Hungry Hippos.
