Abby wasn't present much lately. Mostly hiding in the engine room, waist deep in work. She was safe with Serenity. No worrying about Vi or Sammy or the Cap. No thinking about Dean and if he felt for her the way she did for him. If he even knew she was there.

Even if any of them knew.

It was just Serenity and her here. Just her and her girl.

Though, no matter how she tried to deny it, the concerns eat at her mind. Those eyes of Sammy's from the last time they talked still haunted her.

So many questions. Questions that she didn't know how to ask.

His face reddened slightly, but he was just a little too asleep to really be able to censor what he said.

"Ignoring you," he whispered.

Her face reddened as well as the awkward smile appeared on her lips. "Ig..ignoring me?" she asks in a whisper as well. "Oh..oh 'e didn't have t'do that..." she says trying to search for something to say.
