World Outside Time: 4 days later

Jubee lay on the grassy courtyard, bathing in the sunlight and feeling happy and content for the first time in a long while.

She was stretched out, laying in the yellow dress with her notebook, torn a little and battered, but fine other than a bloodstain on the cover, laying open in front of her. She'd purposefully ignored the pages before these ones, concentrating on the better times as she described the castle and the grounds, Sir James, Anmut, and everything that had happened so far.

On the ground next to her Steve was curled up, asleep as usual, and behind her Sir James and Anmut sat, also enjoying the day.

"Maybe it's like a Savage Land a little," she said, moving behind. "I mean, the dragons would count as dinos I think. My wolvie- he told me all about the Savage Land, but on the way there my first time I got kidnapped, so I didn't get to go with the team. But you know, turkeys are good, too. We can have a good Thanksgiving, a real Earthy kind of one, and then we could have... I don't know, like, turkey sandwiches... or we could have turkey nuggets! Like chicken nuggets, only you get two different flavors, and they're bigger."

"Thanksgiving." He paused, eyes going absent as he looked at memories. "I'd forgotton about Thanksgiving."

"Can we have one?" she said, touching his arm and looking up at him with a smile. "Please?"

He chuckled and mussed her hair. "Aye, we...." The arrows suddenly went flying as he whirled and dashed back just in time to catch Anmut as she toppled.

"What happened?" he barked, shaking her slightly.

"Stood up too fast," she replied dizzily, trying to get her wings under her and pull away from him.

Jubee was there as well, and pulled back at Anmut.

"Don't try to get away. Get better, then stand," she said worriedly.
