World Outside Time: 4 days later

Jubee lay on the grassy courtyard, bathing in the sunlight and feeling happy and content for the first time in a long while.

She was stretched out, laying in the yellow dress with her notebook, torn a little and battered, but fine other than a bloodstain on the cover, laying open in front of her. She'd purposefully ignored the pages before these ones, concentrating on the better times as she described the castle and the grounds, Sir James, Anmut, and everything that had happened so far.

On the ground next to her Steve was curled up, asleep as usual, and behind her Sir James and Anmut sat, also enjoying the day.

"You're not," she hugged her again. "He's just a confused old man. He'll figure it out, though, don't worry."

Anmut gave her hand a gentle squeeze, then sighed. "Could you leave me for a little vhile? I vill be there to eat, but I need to think und pray."

"Just... promise me you'll be ok?" she said softly, looking at her. "I don't want to loose you, and it would kill Wolvie."

"I vill be okay," said the winged woman softly, lifting her head and twitching her ears in a gentle smile.

"Ok," jubilee said, getting up and going to the pile of arrows, carefully picking them up and putting them in the shed before she went. "I think I've done enough damage today. I'm gonna go to my room. See you at dinner."

"I vill see you, Leibling." Anmut twitched her ears in a smile, then turned onto her back and stared up at the sky, in which several water bubbles and a few trees were floating.

Jubee watched her, then hurried up the steps, getting up and smirking as the broom greeted her.

"Tonight?" she said, and grinned as the broom nodded as they made for the kitchen. "Cool. I don't think the overly romantic thing'll be good, but we have to make sure it's really sweet and nice and peaceful. Wolvie and Anmut need it."

The kettle whistled at her cheerfully as she came into the big, arched room, and the little stepstool bounded over to say hello, wagging its backside like a dog.
