Daylight filtered through the window, rousing Helena from her sleep.  With a grumble, she pulled the covers up higher and attempted to bury her head in her pillow.  She wouldn't exactly say she'd had a good night's rest--too many memories associated with the Manor--but she had slept about as well as anyone who sometimes kept odd hours could.

When it became clear that she was not going to be able to get back to sleep, she reluctantly came out from under the covers and gasped.

This was not the same room she'd gone to sleep in.

"I swear, if you tell me all I had to do was click my heels and say there's no place like home..." Helena replied, with a small grin.

"Think of Logan's Place and walk through a door." Brenda hid her smirk behind her coffee mug.

"Though it doesn't always work on the first try," noted Clark. "You might be here for a reason."

"Could be," Helena agreed. "Always seem to end up on Earth-1 just in time for some crisis or another."

"Ugh, not another crisis." Brenda made a face.

Clark looked at her sideways over Helena's head, giving the clear impression that he was a long-suffering older brother to someone who was still very much a teen despite her marital and job status.

"Yeah," Helena agrees. "Way too many get-togethers have turned into having to deal with some super-villain or another."

"It isn't always a crisis, though," Clark pointed out. "We've been brought into the nexii and Logan's place sometimes just to speak to a certain person."

"Could be, I guess." She shrugged.

"Or all @#$%&$ could be just waiting to break loose." Brenda shook her head as Porthos offered her a sip of his wine, then took another long drink of coffee.

Prudence shook her head at her, then turned to Helena. "Would you care to go shopping if your first attempt fails? One would think that Master Clark's clothing will only serve for so long."

She nodded. "Definitely. Wouldn't mind getting my costume made up too, if I'm going to be here for a bit."

"We have the uniform scanner in the Cave." Prudence nodded as well, then stood and retrieved the tray so that she could gather the empty drinking vessels.

"Nothing fancy, no extras or anything, though. Just the way it was... Don't really need to be bringing back stuff from the future, even an alternate one."
