Josh's Reality: Lab: Better Lead than Dead

Though temporarily out of the Phantom Zone and given just a wee bit of a reprieve, Mon-El was still dying, still suffering from lead poisoning in his veins.  Even if he could be cured of what was killing him now, the odds of encountering lead again were tremendous.  It would take a miracle to truly save his life.

His vision was hazy, pain making it hard to focus, but he could make out a high tech laboratory, one that would have been the envy of many a scientist.

Josh nodded. "Yes. So far they're still mostly unpredictable, though my aunt's working on mapping the gene. She's got it. So do most of my adoptive family."

Though the gene's not native to this reality.

"Aunt Ramada will be able to tell you all about it. She's the one who created me."

"The only problem being that you might have to wait a little while." Josh's face was apologetic.

"I'll make a smaller forcefield generator." He looked toward his work bench.

"And I'll get you something to eat." Jenny rolled her eyes affectionately, then hopped up to put her arms around her husband's neck and peck him on the mouth before dropping and walking out of the room.

Josh turned flaming red and grinned, looking everywhere BUT at Lar.

A shrug and a smile. "You're welcome."

His attitude said what his words didn't. It's my job.

"Do you want to help put the generator together, or just talk while I do it?" offered Josh, once more looking toward his bench.

"Alright." He went to the work station, then looked at the labels on the drawers and bins and looked a little embarrassed as he realized that Lar wasn't going to be able to read them. "I'll get everything out and lay it on trays."

He suited action to word and soon had nearly microscopic components spread out on one paper towel lined tray, while tools were lined up on another.
