Josh's Reality: Lab: Better Lead than Dead

Though temporarily out of the Phantom Zone and given just a wee bit of a reprieve, Mon-El was still dying, still suffering from lead poisoning in his veins.  Even if he could be cured of what was killing him now, the odds of encountering lead again were tremendous.  It would take a miracle to truly save his life.

His vision was hazy, pain making it hard to focus, but he could make out a high tech laboratory, one that would have been the envy of many a scientist.

Lar finished up and smiled. "I probably should too," he said. "But other than that, I'm ready."

"Go ahead," rumbled Sonnejäger. "I'll vash that last plate."

"Thanks!" Josh was gone down the hall.

Lar zipped off as well, ready to get his "costume" back.

Josh was already changed when he reached the lab, standing and looking thoughtfully up at the skylight as it opened.

He watched his new friend come out of the costume vault, then chuckled and slugged him in the shoulder before darting up and away. "Tag!"

Lar can technically fly fast enough--at least he was in his own universe--to crack the time barrier. So he's a little inclined to hold back as he rockets after Josh.

Just a bit though. He races past him, slapping him on the shoulder on the way.

And the game continued, in and out of the atmosphere, around the moon, here and there.

Josh went to bed tired and happy that night.
