DK-Verse: Batcave?: On the Road Again (and Again)

Great.  One moment she was in the Nexus--having previously been in a Gotham more than three hundred years in her future--the next she's in the Batcave.  Only... it's definitely not her Batcave.  Some of the souvenirs were off, for one thing.  And, well, she just had a sense about this kind of thing.

Truth be told, the more she examined it, the greater the differences became.  No giant penny, no mechanical dinosaur, no old Robin and Catwoman costumes stored in glass cases, no Batmobile--at least not that she recognized...

She was definitely far from home.

Helena took the other one, likewise adding her own thanks. "No clue. Couple of the people I met there said it might have something to do with being there for some purpose or another."

"Did you see any evidence of this being the case?" Pru cocked her head, eyes intent on Helena's face.

Lon, meanwhile, was finding vegetables.

"Hmmm... Maybe? I had a good, long talk with someone who I'm thinking was a counterpart of you, about the old days... cheered her up some, I think. Maybe put a stop to some destructive fashion trends."

Pru lifted her eyebrows. "Prudence Pennyworth?"

"Destructive fashion trends?" Lon looked around from where he was crouched by the fire.

"That'd be her."

She looked over to Lon. "Yeah, actually. Self-destructive, anyway. Seems that practically starving yourself levels of thinness were really in at the time, according to Brenda."

"Brenda?" He rested an elbow on his knee, giving her the same intent look as his mother and Prudence did.

"A teenage, female counterpart of my father," she said.

Lon blinked.

"... what?" His brow furrowed.

Pru watched him with mild, sympathetic amusement. She'd seen male and female versions of the same person once, and wasn't so surprised to learn that Bruce had female counterparts as well.
