DK-Verse: Batcave?: On the Road Again (and Again)

Great.  One moment she was in the Nexus--having previously been in a Gotham more than three hundred years in her future--the next she's in the Batcave.  Only... it's definitely not her Batcave.  Some of the souvenirs were off, for one thing.  And, well, she just had a sense about this kind of thing.

Truth be told, the more she examined it, the greater the differences became.  No giant penny, no mechanical dinosaur, no old Robin and Catwoman costumes stored in glass cases, no Batmobile--at least not that she recognized...

She was definitely far from home.

The food was strange, but as she tried some more of it, Helena had to admit, it was good. "Good stuff," she said.

Pru smiled at her, then resumed eating what looked something like a roasted celery stalk but smelled nothing like. "Would you care to come out with us later?"

"I'd love to," she replied with a smile.

"Coruscant is rather different from what you're used to, I'd imagine," warned the catwoman gently.

"Probably. But I'm thinking I can handle it."

"Alright." She looked at her for a few moments, but then turned to Lon. "What sector are we covering tonight?"

"Thirteen and twelve," he said, intent on a chunk of fish. "Supergirl has fourteen."

Helena stifled a chuckle. "Man, we must be the only world where the "Supergirl" decided to get out of Superman's shadow."

"We don't have a Superman," said Lon thoughtfully. "Though I suppose Luke has as much right to that name as Leia has to hers."

"Luke and Leia...?" The names rung a faint bell with Helena, but she just shook her head. "Huh. No worse than the Flashes or Green Lanterns, I guess."

"The Skywalkers. My adopted brother and sister." Lon finished eating and wiped his hands with sand from the floor.

Helena blinked. "Luke Skywalker? Like in Star Wars?"

Lon frowned slightly and looked to his mother, who nodded.

"They're the last of the Jedi."

"I'm in a flipping movie," Helena muttered, then had the decency to look embarrassed. "Er... sorry."
