DK-Verse: Batcave?: On the Road Again (and Again)

Great.  One moment she was in the Nexus--having previously been in a Gotham more than three hundred years in her future--the next she's in the Batcave.  Only... it's definitely not her Batcave.  Some of the souvenirs were off, for one thing.  And, well, she just had a sense about this kind of thing.

Truth be told, the more she examined it, the greater the differences became.  No giant penny, no mechanical dinosaur, no old Robin and Catwoman costumes stored in glass cases, no Batmobile--at least not that she recognized...

She was definitely far from home.

"Alright." Pru nodded, then turned to Helena. "Huntress wishes to speak to me. Have you a grapple?"

She pulls a batarang with a cord attached to it from her utility belt. "Good old fashioned bat-rope. I've got some grappling darts... but no crossbow right now."

"Hmmm." Pru looked at it, then disappeared inside the Nightwing for a moment.

"Here." She held out a long, heavy cuff like the one that she wore on her own forearm, absently telling the shuttle to lockdown as she did.

"Thanks," Helena took the cuff and, after a moment of looking at Pru's, strapped it to her own forearm.

It closed with a little beep and then the interior inflated slightly so that it fit snuggly but comfortably.

"Hold your hand out so," said Pru, demonstrating. "And curve your hand as though to grasp the rope."

Whatever rope she meant wasn't visible at that moment.

"Okay," Helena replied, doing as she was instructed.

Out shot the rope, the grapple at the end snagging on the rooftop as it swiftly recoiled.

"A tug once the slack is drawn up will make it recoil," said Pru.

"Got it. Very impressive."

The catwoman smiled. "A fist will cause the grapple to release. Do you want to practice before we set out?"

"Probably a good idea," Helena said, already going through the different settings.
