Gargoyles' reality. Castle Wyvern. Wedding bells.
Goliath looked out over the large room, his eyes resting on the gathering of the Manhattan clans and their friends and kin. Everyone was there but for their alternate brethren and Lex and Emily. The latter two were watching the event via closed-circuit television from Lex's hospital room, and the former... well, he hoped they were going to be here soon.
Behind him Hudson muttered and grumbled nervously, and he glanced over his shoulder. "Peace, old friend. All will be well."
"Sez the bloke that just hit the wall agin this verra mornin'," returned Hudson with uncharacteristic heat, then sighed and turned away to pace.
Goliath closed the door to the groom's room and walked over to pour the old gargoyle a drink of the wine that David had brought in earlier.
That worthy individual was contemplating the window, his hands folded behind his back. "Claw's new wife is a lovely woman."
"Aye." Hudson knocked back his drink and slumped into a chair. "Part 'o me's wishin' Lucy 'n I had just done as they did."
"No you're not," said Goliath calmly. "You decided on this for Lucy."
"Aye." The old one sighed.

Elisa's dark eyes twinkled.
And Burbank nodded. "We got married."
no subject
Elisa's smile was warm and bright. "Really weird, though, the two sets of us. Like funky funhouse mirrors of each other."
The other Burbank shifted uncomfortably, but said nothing. "I am glad you have found happiness," Delilah said.
Angela smiled at her counterpart at their table. "A child... amazing. My little sister is trouble enough. I could not imagine being a parent already."
"So, ah, where were you six years ago?" Lex asked Emily, blushing. "'cause if the two of you are... Maybe I oughta..." He trails off.
no subject
Elisa laughed. "Yeah, and I'm the fat reflection."
"You're not fat." Goliath looked at her with quick dismay.
"Thank you," said Del softly, managing a smile.
"I cannot imagine life without her." Angela offered Chelsea a spoonful of cake and chuckled as the child regarded it narrowly.
Emily laughed. "Remember, we age faster than you guys do. I'll be ten years old in your reality. Probably kicking everyone's butts as the mysterious game wizard known only as 'Phantom phan'."

Elisa fought off the urge to laugh at their banter. "Well, maybe a round about way to get to it, but would you like to hold Hope?"
Angela smiled and put a hand on Broadway's shoulder. "Just give us a few years. When the time comes, we will be ready."
Lex's cheeks flushed even deeper. "Oh, yeah... right." He blinked, though, in recognition of the name. "Whoa! That's you?!"
no subject
"Round?" Elisa rubbed her belly, then laughed and reached for the white hatchling.
Angela looked at her own Broadway, who had paused in enthusiastic recipe sharing with his twin to try and thread he and his wife's charms on the chain that she'd been wearing. "He's a born father. And you should see him with his baby sister, as well."
"Yup." Emily sounded smug, and Lex's laughter sounded briefly in the background. "I met Lex at Game Glory three years later. We were the finalists, and I saw through his disguise and was thrilled beyond words when I realized that I was looking at a gargoyle."

Elisa laughed at her faux pau, then placed Hope in her counterpart's arms. Hope looked up just a little bit confused. This looked kinda like Mommy, but wasn't Mommy. "Miiih?"
That got a strange look out of Broadway. "Baby sister?"
"Oh, jeeze," Lex laughed. "I gotta remember that."
no subject
"Uh." Broadway looked up. "Yeah. We had some genome mapping done... Hudson's my dad."
"It wasn't love at first sight," warned Emily. "Or romantic love, anyway. You were the best friend I'd always dreamed of, and the older person who understood what I was talking about when I wanted to recode Mariocart."
no subject
Broadway's jaw dropped open, as did Angela's. It was hard to say he didn't care, although hundreds of years of cultural tradition made that difficult, but it just seemed to come out of nowhere.
Lex smirked. "Well, never hurts to have more friends."
no subject
"Um...." Broadway looked embarrassed and uncomfortable.
"Nope!" said Emily cheerfully.

Angela recovered first, followed quickly enough by Broadway. "Er... I do not know what to say," Angela said.
"I, ah, I think I'm gonna just keep this one under my hat," Broadway said. "Er... if I wore a hat."
no subject
"Uh... yeah." Broadway grinned sheepishly. "But... yeah. That's where she got the 'little sister' thing."
no subject
Hope fussed in the other Elisa's arms, as if to say stop kicking me.
Broadway nodded. "Gotcha."
And over at yet another table, Katana was asking, "So tell me, Maria, how did you and your Brooklyn meet?"

Goliath went 0_0
The cherry red gargoyle grinned. "Well, I first saw him the night Puck changed all the humans in Manhattan to gargoyles. I didn't remember being a garg then, but I remembered him. And collected all the garg stuff I could. Then came the day of the switches, and I headed for the castle to go find him."
Brooklyn was pretending that he wasn't listening. But he was blushing even as he insulted his alternate.

Kat smiled that little smile of hers, that looked quite serene, but promised trouble. "You were a fan then," she said. "As for me... it was, I believe, 1620, in Ishimura. My rookery sister, Sata, and I had gone off the the woods to practice our sword-techniques, when a certain someone dropped out of the trees. Completely nude."
Brooklyn, who was also totally pretending not to listen, rolled his eyes and groaned. "One of these days," he muttered, "I swear..." He trailed off, as something caught his eyes. "Nash! Stop poking your sister!'\
"She poked me first!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did not!"
"Did too!"
"Did too!"
"Did not... Wait.... d'oh!"
Tachi giggled.
