alter-Mykey: the Richard Grayson building (caveside): Far From Home

She still wasn't home.  Dammit, she still wasn't home!

Another Cave of some kind... there was definitely a Robin costume over there, but also much more spartan than the ones she'd seen before.  Which meant sooner or later, she was going to run into more relatives.  Or near relatives.  Or something.

Frankly, Helena was homesick beyond words.

Mykayla chuckled and shook her head at Alfred, which he also ignored, then turned back to Helena. "What's your family like? Is it alright to ask?"

"Oh... it's fine," she said, slowly. "It's really just me and Dick now, and I only really see him once every few months. Dad died about a year ago, Mom a bit before that."

Mykayla left her crutches and walked along the counter to where she could pat Helena's hand.

"I think it was mostly what you said about Dick," she said softly.

"He died a couple weeks after his ninth birthday." Mykayla looked down at the counter. She'd never known the boy, but she didn't like to think of the pain of losing loved ones.
