She still wasn't home.  Dammit, she still wasn't home!

Another Cave of some kind... there was definitely a Robin costume over there, but also much more spartan than the ones she'd seen before.  Which meant sooner or later, she was going to run into more relatives.  Or near relatives.  Or something.

Frankly, Helena was homesick beyond words.

"Thanks, Alfred," she said, as she took the cup, then nodded. "Every so often... usually when she knew Dad was out of earshot, Mom would tell me about some her greatest acts of thievery. And then show me how to pick a lock or something. She was something else."

"This Bruce could write a book on picking locks." She shook her head as she remembered a fight they'd had. "I once locked the door and he unlocked it in order to continue an argument we were having."

She laughed again. "That sounds like something Dad might have tried."

"He limped for awhile afterward." Mykayla looked sad as she related that.

She would laugh, but instead puts a sympathetic hand on her shoulder.

"But I should let you get some rest." The small woman gently patted her hand and turned toward the living room. "Good night! God bless!"

She smiled. "I'll see you in the morning then."

"Lord willing." A last dimpled grin, and she was away.

Helena shut the door behind her, sipping the warm milk as she did so. Once that was finished, she undressed, climbed into bed, and turned out the light.

She was asleep not long after.
