Clone City. The main assembly room. Jav and 'Mu come for a visit.

Jav looked around as he and his wife stepped through the portal, still thinking that Fi was nuts.

But then he blinked as they came into a huge room (it must have been intended as some sort of hanger) that teemed with clones. All were busy pursuing recreational activities as diverse as sitting and listening to someone talk or playing DDR on the row of machines against the inner wall. Others were good-naturedly yakking away to the accompaniment of mild violence and laughter. And here and there one could be seen seriously teaching some small colourful pet toy this command or activity.

The hyper clone's mouth spread into a wide grin as he reached for Jeimu's hand. "Would ye lookit that?"

She just shook her head. "Nothing. So..."

"So?" He lifted his eyebrows, then took a swing at Sev as he walked past. "You owe me."

She'd been distracted by the sheer youth of his brothers, and it had unnerved her. "Owe you what?"

"Not you. Him!" He ducked a return swipe from the other Commando, then let go of her to shove him.

"Shift change!" called someone over a loud speaker.

"Ack!" Several clones looked around in dismay, then the whole pack started trying to figure out who wasn't on yet so that there'd be someone to take care of the baby.

"Here." Jeimu held out her arms. "Give him to me."

She was given a slightly worried look, but the clone who'd banged his leg handed the tiny boy over obediently.

The room emptied and refilled, and a grubby Darman with his shirt in one and and the blond baby in the other arm walked over to the refreshment table with a surprised but pleased look on his face. "So you're our new squad member, huh? Well you need a name. The brother who moved away's name is Stubborn. So how about we call you Not Stubborn?"

The child grinned at him and pointed to the snacks.

And the little guy in Jeimu's arms snuggled close and watched as clones came to look at him with eager curiosity. "Boo!"

"Hey! He said 'Papa!' Kandosii!"

Jeimu just dealt the clones an odd look as she cuddled the child close. "You found these little ones where again?"

"Somebody said Charlie brought them?" offered a clone uncertainly.

"Oh. Did he say anything as to why?"

"Uhhh, I dunno. Want me to ask?"

"Yeah, actually, if you don't mind."

The man closed his eyes. "Hey, Charlie, can you hear me?"

-Yes?- rumbled a deep voice in their minds.
