Remieverse - Sweet Child

Remie lay in her bed, holding her tiny son close as he fed, staring at him in amazement.

"Ma petit..." she said softly, gazing at the babe. An almost overwhelming feeling of relief and joy swept over her, and she sank back into the pillows. "Ah... amour... he so tiny...."

"Really?" His black eyes looked to hers.

"No' small for a bebe, I guess... but lookit de hands," she cooed softly, touching one clenched fist.

"Perfect." He smoothed his son's hair.

She settled against him, eyes slipping shut.

"I t'ink I am tired," she murmured, holding the tiny fist.

"Sleep, meine Liebe." He kissed her gently, slipping his other wing beneath she and the baby so that both of them were wrapped in warmth. "I'll vatch."

"I love you," she said softly, snuggling against him.

"Ik hou fan dei," he whispered, laying his cheek against her hair and gazing at the wall.

She sighed happily, then slipped off to sleep, still holding her son's hand.
