Transformers-'Verse. Nellis AFB. Early in the morning, I wake to the boom.....

((Morning after the Ratchet fixing.))

It's dark and still in Ratchet and Endeavour's room. All is calm, all is quiet....

Till something blows up massively in the front courtyard.

Ratchet goes from soundly offline to sitting up and ready to roar at Ironhide, only to stop short as he remembers that such vocal exertions might startle a certain unborn spark and cause her mother discomfort. Instead he listens to Jazz scolding and looks down at his sparkmate to see how she reacted to the explosion.

Ratchet glances at the human woman, then sniffs to see if he can tell what she's feeling.

Clearly it's hormones.

Jeimu wipes her eyes and smiles at the little family, but doesn't say anything.

Which is probably the most scary part about her mood.

Whose optics suddenly unshutter, but then dilate as though the room is too bright. She lifts a hand to shield them, but is too tired to keep it up. Her hand falls against her mother.

Columbia starts, and sits up to look at the half-inert figure on the table. The one who's smiling up at her with arms outstretched.

The youngling beeps, then tilts her head as though surprised. "What... what was that?" she asks nobody in particular. She looks at her mother, then at the human, and then at Ratchet.

"Who...?"

"That's your mom," says Ratchet softly in English, reinforcing the language. "And I'm your dad. You're Columbia, and this is Jeimu."

She looks around with a child's wide-eyed wonder and grins. "Oh."

Ratchet chuckles and kisses her on the forehead. "How do you feel?"

Columbia leans forward, reaching out to her father.

"I feel okay, I guess," she says. "A little tired..." She looks around again and fixes her optics on Jeimu. "Hi."

"Hi," replies the human with another sniff and a smile that Columbia returns.

She's a little over half his size, but he picks her up and gently pats her back, ignoring the twinges from his injuries. "We should get you and your mother to bed so you can rest."

He looks over her head to his sparkmate, his optics showing his feelings.

Endeavour, too, is starting to get a little more energy. She sits up, careful not to hit Jeimu, and nods. "Sounds like a good idea."

She looks at her daughter and her mate and just grins. They look cute together.

"Don't strain yourself." He holds out a hand to her in concern. "Are you sure you've got enough energy to do that?"

She grins. "I think I can manage walking a hundred feet or so."

She can't hold her laughter as she watches Columbia snuggle up to him. "I think she likes you."

He looks down at the sparkling, and gently strokes her head. "She's tired, aren't you, sweetheart?"

Then he glances at Jeimu and turns toward the door. "Let's get you two in bed."

Columbia nods and lays her head on her father's shoulder, watching with wide optics as Endeavour slowly climbs down from the table. "Sounds like a plan."

She's not woozy or unsteady or anything; she's just very tired, and her feet shuffle a bit as she heads for the door that Jeimu's holding open.
