Maggie appears in the other universe and looks around apprehensively.  She desperately needs someone to talk to and, frankly, there's no one in her own universe that she feels comfortable talking to right now.  Not Derek, no one in the Labyrinth, and most especially not Elisa.

Though the person she's most looking for might not be the best source to vent her problems too...  At least it's one step removed from home, a little further away from it all...

The Maggie who appears in the courtyard is one troubled cat.

"Yo, Mags! Wassup?" Brooklyn looks around from where he's having a smoke before going in for breakfast.

"Is Lucy around, Brooklyn?" she asks quietly.

"Probably somewhere inside saying hi to Hudson before they have breakfast," he says in a less jocular tone, frowning with concern as he holds the cigarette so that the smoke blows away from her. "You alright?"

"I'm... really not sure, Brooklyn."

"Well... go on in. They're usually in the living room. Uhh, just make noise as you come in, so they know you're coming."

Maggie blinks in surprise, catching his meaning only after a little thought.

She walks down the hall and calls out, "Hello? Anybody home?"

Voices echo faintly from the dining room, but there's a quick step and then Hudson's peeking through the living room door. "Maggie? What brings ye here, lass?"

"I need to talk to Lucy, Hudson. Please?"

The tiny mutate steps around her husband. "Sure. Hudson, go on. I'll be there in awhile."

He nods in concerned silence and turns to walk toward the dining room.

Lucy watches him go, then nods to Maggie and invites her inside the room.

Maggie heads inside and settles down in one of the chairs. "Thank-you."

"No problem." Lucy shuts the door, then walks over and curls in another chair, dark eyes studying the larger woman. "What's wrong?"

Maggie decides not to beat around the bush. "I'm pregnant."

"And how do you feel about that?" Lucy absently shifts her weight.

Maggie shakes her head. "I don't know. Part of me is thrilled... part of me is terrified... and part of me... I don't know..."

"Do you know how far along you are?" She absently puts a hand on her own stomach.

"About a month," she replies.

Lucy nods. "Any nausea or mood swings?"

"A little nausea, but nothing too bad," Maggie admits.

Another nod. "Does anyone else know?"

She shakes her head. "Just you. I haven't told anyone. Not even Derek."

"Ours fainted when he found out. Right over the side of the building they were standing on." She facepalms at the memory, but hopes that it helps a little. "Awnings really do bounce."

Maggie chuckles in spite of herself. "I just don't know what I'm going to do."

"What options do you see yourself having?" asks Lucy quietly, her smile fading as she focused on her friend.

"I could always have the baby. I like the thought of being a mother. I like the thought of raising a child with Derek..."

She looks down at her hands. "But not like this."

"Like what?" The smaller woman's voice is gentle.
