Ang leans back against the sun-warmed stone and wriggles her toes inside her shoes as she listens to her computer tell a story about a little chicken who went to town and saw a clown. It's a rhyming story, simple and catchy, and she's enjoying it very much. And up here there's no one to complain about her listening to it twelve times in a row. Present is curled next to her, asleep and purring.

She snuggles against him and pulls the book chip out of her pocket, then presses it to activate it to book form before setting the now nicely decorated scrapbook on the table and taking Spike's hand to examine it. She's never really looked closely at a hand before, and the lines and creases and old scars fascinate her. Her own small fingers run over his knuckles lightly, and then she turns the hand over and traces the lines of his palm, her eyes intent.

He smiled, watching her and glancing at the book, but then went back to looking at her. She was so beautiful, and innocent. Perfection. He smiled and kissed her cheek.

Those wide summer sky eyes smile up at him, and he might notice that the face that holds them is no longer that of a girl in her late teens. While he was away Ang has finished growing and now resembles a woman in her mid-twenties.

Ang herself is unaware of this as she lays her cheek against his palm and snuggles gently.

He did note this, a bit his lip. "How long have I been away?" he asked.

"Wolvie says two months." She rubs her cheek on his hand again, then tips her head forward to examine it once more, her eyes shining.

"Ah," he said, sighing and stroking her hair with the non-captured hand.

"I love you." She leans against him, feeling contented.

"I love you too," he murmured, holding her close.

Her life is so bright to his eyes, but so brief. But she's unaware of this too as she frees his hand to put her arms around him with a sigh.

Then she looks up with eyes dancing with laughter. "I stuck the pages with my dress on shut so you can't see them."

"Alright," he smiled. "Let me see what you planned, love."

She lets him go to pull the book closer and open the fabric-look cover. "Here's the place. In Clone City, by the River."

He nodded. "It looks beautiful," he said, liking the spot.

Ang smiles and shows him pictures from other angles, some of which contain grinning or unaware clones. Then she turns another page. "And here is what the cake will be. It's chocolate malt on top, and lemon on the bottom." She points to the pictures of the uniced cake slabs. "It's going to have the icing we liked." A touch to the icing picture and a recorded voice says the name of it. "That."

"Sounds fantastic," he said, kissing her cheek.
