She looks up at her husband the moment her feet hit the ground. The air is slightly cool; dusk has fallen and there's the distinct aroma of salt on the air. Typical seaside night.

"So," she says quietly, "what exactly did you say to him?"

"I... what?" he asks blankly, processors trying to find a reference.

She laughs. "Never mind."

Unspoken agreement or not, she doesn't plan on ceasing the lighthearted teasing.

"Alright," he says uncertainly as he opens his passenger door.

She climbs in, then whistles under her breath.

"Nice."

"Hmmm?" His engines rumble smoothly to life.

"Nothing, I just have a soft spot for this particular brand of truck."

"Ah. I'm rather fond of the mode myself." He pauses. "Where's Asuka?"

"She's with me." Endeavour points. "See?"

Sure enough, Asuka is curled up in the palm of the dozing giant robot's hand, small puppy snores coming from her.

"D'aww." He checks to make sure that seatbelts are in place and everything, then starts backing down the drive. "Here we go."
