Elisa-garg's reality; Permission?

Chiyoko stretched her wings as she walked to the balcony, blinking and rubbing the back of her head. It felt odd to wake up indoors....

She blinked, then hurried towards the usual resting places, hoping to find Goliath and plead her case before him. She was new to the clan and hadn't proved herself yet, so she could only hope he'd be willing to forgive her fleeing and getting married.

Hunter... she smiled even as she thought of him, and couldn't wait to see him again.

Goliath could be found in the library, sitting peacefully immersed in a volume of Russian literature Elisa had gotten him for Christmas. Hope was in her playpen before him, happily chewing on her stuffed toys.

Chiyoko tracked him down, then knocked gently and bowed to him.

"Sir... may I speak with you?" she asked softly.

Goliath looks up kindly from his book. "Of course, Chiyoko."

"Zah!" Hope holds up her stuffed gargoyle. Isn't it a great toy?

Chiyoko blinked at the small garg and half smiled, then turned serious and looked at Golaith.

"Sir... I must say that I have been honored to be a part of your clan. I must thank you with all of my heart for the chance and trust you gave me," she said, looking at him. "And I would not readily abandon you or this place for less than a fantastic reason. I consider you and the other gargoyles here my clan and place now."

Goliath regards her curiously, but comprehension works its way across his lavender features. "This wouldn't have anything to do with a certain visitor, now would it?"

Of course, he'd heard.

Chiyoko blushed and looked at the floor, then up at him.

"His name is Hunter. He comes from a world that is far away," she said softly.

Goliath smiles. "Love often blooms in the most unexpected places."

So he knew.

"Yes, sir," she said, then inhaled. "He... he has asked me to marry him."

Goliath may occasionally be dense, but he's still smarter than you might give him credit for.

"And you seek my permission for this?" He nods, slightly. "Consider it given."

"Yes, sir, but... he does not live here, or near here. I could not marry him and continue to fulfil my duties to the clan," she said, looking to him as she never looked to the elders in her homeland. She didn't know what to do.

Goliath nods in understanding. "I would be remiss if I did not tell you to follow your heart, Chiyoko. If you wish to leave us to follow your intended, then I will not stand in your way."

She looked at him, then bowed graciously.

"You are my clan," she said softly, rising. "If you ever are in need of me I will not hesitate to return."

Goliath stood and returned the bow. "And if ever you or your beloved are in need... do not hesitate to call upon us."

She looked at him and smiled.

"Thank you, Goliath," she said softly.

She smiled, then bowed again and turned to leave, smiling now as warm feelings filled her.
