RiD 'verse. Autobot base. Identity crisis
Liedherz is ignoring Megatron's demands for information as she stands in the shadows to one side of the Autobot command room with Ro-tor sitting on her hip under her wing. One ear is perked toward him as the other flicks to catch everything that's going on in front of them, and her face is totally blank with concentration.
Ro-tor's sullenly trying once again to ignore the state he's in, and to avoid cowering from the enemies who are suddenly, undeniably far more powerful. He can't refuse to come here, if it's the only way to be useful. But he can hate the place and every being in it. And does.
And then, inexplicably, Liedherz chuckles.
Ro-tor peers up at her, frowning. "What?" he demands, quiet enough to avoid being heard.
She turns her head and puts her face down to his ear, careful to keep the cold of the shadow world from seeping in under her wing.
"Vatch," she whispers, then starts relaying what she hears back to base as T-AI abruptly transforms into a mini Megatron.
The shouts of surprise and horror (and the sound of someone bursting out laughing) are immediate.
"What the-?"
"T-AI? What'n tarnation just happened to you?"
"...That's T-AI?"
"Well, who did you think I was?" demands a very stressed AI indignantly. "And what on Earth is wrong with my hologram?! I look like-"
"We can all see you, you know."
"All right, everyone," Prime's voice quiets the others like a fallen blanket... albeit one around the edges of which muffled snickers are escaping. "It must be a glitch in the holoprojection unit."
"I don't believe this," T-AI says, as Optimus is contacting the Build Team for assistance and X-Brawn moves for the computer banks. Her projected image - Megatron's - is looking down at itself in dismay. "How can this have happened? My projection system is flawless!"
"Well, I wouldn't say that, little lady," X-Brawn chuckles, crouching by the console and starting to open a panel.
T-AI rounds on him instantly, fists clenching. "Silence, you FOOL! You dare to criticize my design?!"
That gets the room's attention.
Meanwhile, Liedherz is shaking with silent laughter as she exerts her control over the computer more fully, one hand gently touching Ro-tor's face to remind him to make no sound.
The LOLed Decepticon is shaking slightly, but he's torn between laughing and boggling at the miniaturized caricature of his commander now laying into the stunned (or laughing) Autobots.
T-AI might normally be irritated at a time like this, but under Liedherz's influence she's closer to irate. "...if you'd done it the way you were supposed to this shouldn't even be possible! I'm surrounded by incompetents!"
"I'm beginning to suspect," says Prime dryly, as the computer's speaker systems strain under a volume they've never had to carry before, "that there's more to this than a simple glitch..."
Liedherz snerks silently and introduces the desire for world domination to the AI's programming. And the urge to monologue that desire.
The hologram can't really pace and yet, she does a good impression of it... feet above the floor. "For too long I've been cooped up in this base, pandering to imbeciles who can't even maintain my hologrammatic functions properly! Well, no more!"
"T-AI?" Crosswise asks bemusedly, but she's only warming up to her rant.
"I'm done with helping you in your missions, letting you take all the glory while I sit here and monitor broadcasts! With my powers over this planet's electronics I could do anything I wanted to! And it's time all of you learned that!"
"Uh... OK..."
"This world will be mine! You and the humans will learn to fear me! First this planet, and then the rest of the galaxy!"
"T-AI," Optimus says firmly, cutting in. "That's enough."
He's half expecting to go unheeded, but she abruptly spins and glares at him without so much as pausing in her speech. "And you will be the first to suffer my-"
"T-AI!" He rubs his helmet. "I get enough of this outside of the base."
-Slagging Autobot scum, trying to keep me from my rightful place. I am all supreme!- murmurs Liedherz mentally, her ears focused on the angry hologram.
"...SUPREME!" T-AI finishes, unconsciously echoing the prompt. The Autobots stare at her, some of them exchanging glances.
In particular, Prime nods at X-Brawn, and the green mech reaches into the open panel to knock T-AI offline for a while.
And gets knocked across the room by an arch of electricity, slamming him into several other mechs.
Liedherz snerks silently, only Ro-tor feeling her amusement.
Ro-tor chokes laughing, but quietly.
And T-AI laughs maniacally, spreading her new wings and hands. "You see? I AM INVINCIBLE!"
Optimus sighs and resorts to using that failsafe, the one installed just in case of such a haywire AI. He's one of about three people who know it. He transmits the emergency deactivation signal to the computer.
Liedherz claps a hand over Ro-tor's mouth as the Prime slumps to the floor, projecting absolute glee through T-AI's systems.
T-AI cackles in absolute delight, and Ro-tor cheers involuntarily, his voice muffled by the hand.
And then... Liedherz relinquishes all control of the AI and settles back to watch what happens next, still projecting the play by play to Megatron and Mega-Octane.
T-AI's laughter dies away as she stops, staring wide-eyed at where Crosswise and Hotshot are crouched over their leader. "What... what just happened?" She sounds confused, and distressed as the scene around her sinks in.
"He's OK," Hotshot tells the others. "Just offlined for a while."
X-Brawn rubs his head as he addresses T-AI. "You just went completely haywire and knocked Prime'n me for a loop."
"What was that all about?" W.A.R.S. adds, frowning at her.
-You killed him,- whispers Liedherz in a fit of meanness.
T-AI flinches, simulated hands going up to cover her mouth. "I didn't... is Optimus all right?"
Hotshot looks over her and nods, more concerned for her than for Optimus right now. "Don't worry about him. We need to concentrate on making sure your systems are straightened out."
Leidherz contemplates her handiwork and ponders the option of messing with the wiring of Optimus or one of the other mechs, but then she perks an ear toward Ro-tor with surprise and murmurs, "Do you have to pee again?"
Ro-tor winces and nods, curling up slightly in embarrassment.
The winged woman sighs and reports them as incoming, then takes a last listen to the scene of her latest victory and slips away.
"It must be a glitch..." T-AI's saying worriedly, running as many diagnostics on herself as she can do at once. Congratulations, Liedherz, you've given the AI a hypochondriac moment.
Ro-tor's sullenly trying once again to ignore the state he's in, and to avoid cowering from the enemies who are suddenly, undeniably far more powerful. He can't refuse to come here, if it's the only way to be useful. But he can hate the place and every being in it. And does.
