Threnody is unaware of the symphony of bird song occurring over her head and all around her. She's paying no mind to the local rodent population, though there's a squirrel sitting on her foot right at this moment. She has no attention to spare for the bright forms of the flowers that are scattered throughout the undergrowth and the grass of the little forest glade she's found. Most of her attention is focused on the tiny construction of paper and various colouring chemicals that she holds between her fingertips.

Cyclonus would be non-plussed, and Scourge would be quietly and uncomprehendingly supportive if they found her now, but she's used to those reactions when her friends find her with a book.

"Neither of them will hurt you." Ratchet follows him, his optics on the pair as the altercation escalates. "They're just testing each other's measure."

//Hush,// says Scourge absently, then frowns and looks around quizzically.

Scourge falls quiet again, avoiding her gaze. No help there, she's either actually loyal or something worse has happened.

"But I'm the one who brought her here, if Threnody wins she'll blame me for it. And if the other one wins..." He trails off, having no real clue what the other one even wants. Possibly just to take over.

"Come over this way." Ratchet gets him by the arm and tugs him toward the far side of the fountain, his touch solid but lighter than it should be if he were alive. "No, she won't. Even she wants Galvatron here."

Threnody, at that moment, flies and knocks the native Scourge flying, then shoves away from her impatiently and flies just as impetuously back into the fray, taking her turn to knock her creators tail over teakettle.

"But they're fighting..." Scourge comes with him, still carrying the half-full cube of energon. He winces as he sees his alternate knocked to the floor, but knows he won't be able to do much for her if she doesn't want to listen to him.

"Nah... if they were fighting we'd be seeing spilled energon by now." Ratchet moves over as the native Scourge comes to join them in their cover, her optics wide with dismay as she watches the two mechs pounding one another. "Like I said. They're just testing each other."

Scourge is now slightly squished between the ghost and his alternate.

Scourge doesn't appreciate the squish, but they're the most comforting presences he's got at the moment. "And when they're done?"

"Galvatron will probably get too drunk to stand up," says Scourge, then glances at her alternate's cube and smiles slightly. "Better drink it fast before she wants it back."

Ratchet just snorts. "She can't get drunk anymore than I can, no matter who she's hiding in."

"That..." Scourge turns her attention back to the fight. "Won't sit well."

Scourge drinks obediently--he more than most understands the concept of hoarding and conserving fuel. "She won't try to take back control of the Decepticons from Cyclonus? I would think he'd yield it gladly."

"He yielded the moment he knew who she is," says his alternate, giving him a look of surprise. "Yielded everything."

"Spark bonds make mechs into idiots," notes Ratchet.

"If the stories I've heard are right, you were bonded." Scourge frowns at him.

"Yup. I was an idiot." The free spark grins, then winces as metal clangs loudly. "That'll leave a mark."

"So she's just putting Threnody in her place, then?" Scourge asks, trying to understand exactly how this works. Ratchet's right, they don't look like they're out to kill.

"She's seeing how kind and gentle she is." Ratchet winces again as the young femme in question boots her creators in the face.

"I think they're having fun." Scourge cringes herself.

"The kid's as warped as she is," says Ratchet.

"She's not warped." Scourge scowls over her alternate's back at him. "And Threnody is proud and strong."

"Gally won." Ratchet loses interest as Threnody is pinned and slapped soundly in the back of the head to the accompaniment of Galvatron's approving laughter and a stray groan of pain from Cyclonus. "Do you want to go home now? I have to stop somewhere else on the way."

...Gally? Scourge is glad they're out of earshot.

Scourge looks up and nods shakily at Ratchet. "Never wanted to be here in the first place."

The free spark gives him a pat on the back. "Do you still have that PINpoint?"
