Nexus. By the sign. Meeting with another Starscream

Now that comment evokes a shrill bray of laughter from Starscream.

"This I have to see!"

Yes, Megatron is standing in the same general direction that that 'Phhhhtthhh!' just came from.

His glower dares you to comment on it.

Starscream comments, alright.

He comments with shrieking gales of laughter that make his reaction to Atlanta's commentary look positively restrained.

"You? You?"

"This Autobot is concerned about you? Look at you! Oh how the mighty have fallen!"

Megatron is reminded of why he used to rip his own Starscream's wiring out so often in the past.

His glower turns toward the red Autobot femme, and then he dismisses her with a snort. "Why should she be concerned about me?"

"What do I care for an Autobot's concerns? Though if you're any indication of the Megatrons-plural she's asking about, she's more fool than most of her kind."

Why yes, he's still amused, thanks for asking.

"I wonder if you'd yap so freely outside the anti-violence field." Megatron lifts one brow ridge, his scowl fading into a frown. "And if I'm an indication of anything, it's success. You see before you the Supreme Commander of all Transformers."

"Seeing that I have no trouble giving my opinion to a more likely Megatron, I can't imagine that I'd have much trouble with you."

Now he snorts. The sheer idea of a 'Megatron' with perhaps half, or third, of the mass (and likely damage output) he's familiar with screams 'ridiculous' to him.

"And if you've conquered all Cybertron, it's a sorry state of the race to begin with."

"More likely?" The other brow ridge joins the first. "How can any Megatron be more or less likely than another?"

"Call it a matter of ... variation in the species, if you will. I don't expect that you'd understand the details."

Not that he's feeling inclined to do more than hint in any case, not right now. That would make it too easy.

"Primus, don't tell me yours is female and the two of you have something going on." Megatron's expression goes to horror.

"What?!"

This, this is an outraged Starscream. Yes indeed.

"I don't know what's more insulting, the mere idea of even touching you or the insinuation we'd be sexed like some disgusting organic!"

"No, and if you must know my relationship with Skywarp and Thundercracker is quite enough."

Cue the non-comedic timing. The portal that Megatron is partially leaning on opens, and a white with red and blue seeker slips through and steps away from him, then pauses to look up at Starscream with quizzical red optics set in a dark face. Those optics are just slightly larger than the norm, and the seeker's form is more curved than angular, though still full of latent power and grace.

"Not now, Starscream," says Megatron irritably. "I'm trying to delete the last three nanoseconds of conversation from my memory."

Starscream isn't seeing power and grace; he's seeing more examples of comedy mixed with utter disbelief. So to speak.

"No wonder little you managed to somehow conquer, Megatron. There's not much competition."

Then he briefly smirks.

"Oh, did I horrify you so badly? My apologies!"

Megatron's hand lashes out and seizes his own Starscream's wrist as she wordlessly lifts her weapon and aims for her alternate, then berates her over the com link for acting like a fool.

"So that's what you're harping about," he says aloud as Starscream's expression goes to rage and carefully hidden fear. "Shell size has nothing to do with ability. Unicron himself couldn't beat me."

He can't be bothered to flinch when the weapon is pulled on him. He does smile at the show of weakness. What a fool, to overplay one's hand so very quickly.

"What is 'Unicron'? A name, nothing more. As for the remainder of your statement, clearly you're as ignorant of basic physiology as the brute I'm more familiar with."

Megatron lets go of Starscream's wrist and shoves her back toward the portal without looking at her. "There are scars on Cybertron to show that he's more than a name. And your statement shows that you're as blinded by pride as the Starscream I once knew."

"This, from someone clearly deluded by myth and legendry."

"I suppose that next you'll be telling me you actually expect Primus itself to wake from the bowels of Cybertron? Oh, please. Not only are you a fool, you're a religiously deluded fool."

Megatron lifts a brow ridge, his expression saying that he's wondering if this Starscream has some sort of malfunction. The part of him that's no longer Megatron notes that arguing with a fool can make you a fool yourself. Still, he wishes he could take this one back in time and show him just how deluded he'd been as he'd faced the very embodiment of chaos and told him to slag himself.

"I know nothing of Primus," he says at last, dryly. "But the last time I looked delusions didn't eat moons and destroy space shuttles."

Well, now. Either this Megatron was from a deluded empty world, or he truly was insane.

To claim even knowing of the mythology of the Chaos Bringer -- ignoring the fool notion of having defeated it without Primus' Matrix -- but no knowledge of Primus itself? Ridiculous.

"So you destroyed some rogue bit of world-destroying weaponry. What of it?"

"You're a fool and ignorant, and your fool's story just fell apart. Even a newly built or budded Decepticon, even an Autobot for that matter, knows the myth of the originator of us all."

"The legends I know." Megatron snorts impatiently, then stills as he feels a stirring in his spark. "But I've only once seen anything that might have been his work."

When he'd passed that very Matrix to a young Autobot and told him to kick Unicron's skidplate.

"If you know the legends, perhaps you should learn to speak better then. Because if you the legends, why should you claim you 'know nothing of Primus'?"

"Because those legends say that all of Cybertron -- including its denizens -- are the work of Primus. And yet you say you've only seen one thing that may have been its work?"

Starscream shakes his head. This is unbelievable, and gone well beyond funny.

"Because I haven't lived this long by trusting in legends. And I still barely believe what I saw that day." He looks away. No reason for Starscream to see that his optics aren't as red as they were a moment ago.

"Then don't expect me to be impressed by your claims of defeating 'Unicron'."

"I expect nothing from you, Starscream." Megatron's voice is strangely calm as he turns and goes through the portal, his tell-tale optics still hidden. "Perhaps, with time you'll learn to see past yourself. But now... you're not worth my time."

"Spoken like a true coward, Megatron. I can only hope that the 'Decepticons' of your world tear you to pieces an install a true leader."

Starscream isn't put out by the calm. He's too busy making mental notes of the portal's location. Even if not of use to him, someone may find it worthwhile indeed.
