Void-verse. Where Scourge is. Looking for a hand.

Ratchet looks around as he appears in the new reality, feeling the mech that he's searching for, but not seeing him yet. The free spark's usually cheerful face shows deep concern today. He knows this is a long shot gamble, but he can't shake the hunch that Scourge might be able to help him.

He tilts his head and listens. Where is Scourge?

Ratchet nods and vanishes, then returns with a slightly larger and fancier PINpoint. This one sports several buttons, and he points to three of them as he offers it to Scourge. "Home. Auspex's. And the Nexus."

Scourge's hands move as if to reach for it before he forces them back to his sides again. Cyclonus takes the device gingerly, deciding that he can at least trust it not to be some sort of bomb. His thumb comes up and rests on the 'Nexus' button.

"Now?"

"Ready when you are," responds the free spark.

Push the button, Frank Cyclonus.

Scourge steps up to his wingmate and gently puts a hand on his arm as the PINPoint activates.

Nexus

They come out in a relatively broad alley a little distance from the sign, and are soon joined by Ratchet, who nods toward the mouth of the lane and leads the way out of it. "It's over here, by the PINpoint and scanner vending machines... wow, they haven't fixed those yet, either. You can still see Megatron's footprints on them."

"How long ago was it?" Cyclonus jerks his head ever so slightly, encouraging Scourge to scan the area.

Scourge lifts his head slightly, searching out sound, light, energy signature, waves above and below the levels of detection by most humans or Cybertronians.

"About a week. Time isn't always easy to measure here, especially when you're not affected by it anymore. But I don't think it's been more than that." Ratchet looks down at the puddle grimly.

And Scourge sees something, faint traces energy that look almost like a weaker version of Ratchet's own signature. It's residual, though, and looks like whatever left it hasn't been there for several hours.

"I'm not picking anything up." Ratchet frowns and looks at the tracker hopefully.

Scourge turns to Cyclonus, then to Ratchet to give him a tiny nod. "Someone's been here, anyway. Looks more Autobot than Decepticon, doesn't feel like Starscream's. They've been gone for...maybe two or three hours."

Ratchet blinks. "What's the difference? What makes something look Decepticon verses Autobot? And can you see which way they went?"

There's no trail. If this is Starscream's trail she's left the area completely.

"No...I'm sorry, I can't see anything..."

"We're chasing a ghost," Cyclonus interrupts, holding a hand up. "Literally. We won't find her if she doesn't show herself directly."

Ratchet looks around, weighing the pros and cons of trying the other Nexus that he's sensed Starscream in. But then he hunkers down and pokes at the edge of the puddle.

Cyclonus glares at his backside, fingering the 'home' button. The only reason he hasn't left this for a fool's errand is the fact that Scourge keeps looking at him with nervous hope--the way he does when he wants something but is too nervous to speak up and ask.

Suddenly every organic in the area is rubbing their arms and leaving the area as a very faint staticy trace of Not Right touches the circuits of the two living mechs.

And Ratchet's looking around, holding back the urge to try and talk to the cause of that sensation because he knows it will only scare her away.

"Do you feel that?" he asks aloud, instead.

Cyclonus has his gun out before Ratchet even speaks. "Yes," he answers, his voice tense but quiet.

"Cyclonus..." Scourge starts, his voice barely audible. He feels it too, but there's something else, something he can't completely define.
