Void-verse. Where Scourge is. Looking for a hand.

Ratchet looks around as he appears in the new reality, feeling the mech that he's searching for, but not seeing him yet. The free spark's usually cheerful face shows deep concern today. He knows this is a long shot gamble, but he can't shake the hunch that Scourge might be able to help him.

He tilts his head and listens. Where is Scourge?

"My wingmate stays. He is...also involved in this matter."

Scourge gives a hesitant nod of confirmation, then turns his attention inward to his passenger. He's here. Wake up. You can see him now.

"Like he's going to fall for that one." Skywarp scowls, then ducks and puts his hands to his head as his processor fills with painful static. "Yessir. Shutting up."

"Agreed," says the voice. "Enter."

In deference to protocol Cyclonus enters first, his gun lowered passively but still ready to snap up and fire at a moment's notice. Again Scourge prods his passenger.

They enter a control room, but the chair before the main console is empty save for an alertly blinking Buzzsaw perched on the back of it. A movement to one side shows them Soundwave's location.

The communication specialist waits till the door closes behind them, then folds his arms over his chest. "What do you know of my co-regent?"

-Hmmm?- Starscream's awareness flickers. -What?-

And Soundwave starts. It barely shows, but suddenly every sensor in his arsenal is being deployed.

Cyclonus chooses his next words very carefully. "She is dead, and yet in a way she is not. My wingmate carries her spark within his shell, and I believe she wishes to be returned to you."

Scourge again prods her, this time with an image of what's right in front of him. "He's here," he whispers.

Soundwave maintains his impassive exterior with an effort, quashing the tremors that try to start in his shell. "How did this happen?" -Starscream, beloved, can you hear me?-

Confusion and a startled seeking for the voice that she just felt in her very being come from Starscream. -Scourge?- And then she sees what he's showing her and freezes, guilt and uncertainty blocking out everything else.

Scourge kept trying to comfort her, ignoring how uncomfortable Cyclonus felt having his wingmate talk to himself in public.

"It's me. Soundwave's here. You can come and talk to him if you want to, or talk through me. He can help you."

Soundwave walks toward the winged mech, his gaze intent as he feels the swirl of emotions from him and yet not from him.

"Starscream," he calls again with both voice and processor, his own feelings coming faintly over the death-damaged bond with his mate.

-He's not angry.- This seems to confuse her, though she has no memory of Soundwave being angry at her.

-Starscream, come to me.- The call is soft and insistent, and Scourge will hear it through the free spark's contact with his circuits.

She's so tired, and the thought of being unprotected again frightens her. -I... Scourge, I'm afraid.-

Soundwave waits, then looks toward Cyclonus. "What happened?"

Cyclonus gives his wingmate a nervous glance. "I'm not sure. Ratchet guided us to her and Scourge allowed her to enter his body for protection. Whatever happened, she's terrified." Momentarily he wonders if that...other presence had something to do with it. It hadn't seemed threatening, but most compassionate individuals don't enter your body without warning.

"Of course he's not angry," Scourge mutters softly. "He wants you. He'll take care of you. Tell me what to say and I'll say it.

"Ratchet guided you to her?" He's going to have to have a talk with the CMO later. He studies the construction of the two, still mentally calling to his mate. "Where was this?" A pause. "And where is Megatron?"

-Tell him...- She curls up on herself, trembling. -Tell him I'm sorry.-

"She says she's sorry," Scourge says, speaking a bit louder and to the group at large. "I don't know for what. We haven't seen Megatron at all."
