RiD 'verse. The Megastar and elsewhere. Passing

-No. Liedherz, your interference could cause trouble with the timeline,- said the Professor sternly. -I want you to leave there at once.-

-But, Vader....- The winged woman clenched her fists, feeling her protest throughout her whole being.

-Liedherz... there's a group of young Transformers living in a nearby pocket dimension. They could use a teacher and guide with some sanity...- started her creator gently.

-NO!- Her shout nearly blasted him from the link. -I am NOT a slagging baby sitter! You can take your poor little refugees und stuff them....-

-Liedherz....- A growl rumbled through her mind.

She paused, then bowed her head. -Vhat of my backups?-

-Destroy them,- he ordered, his voice not unkind. -Remove all proof of yourself from the reality.-

-Yes, sir.- She closed the link and then turned toward the shelf where she kept her data chips. It was the work of a moment and a little flame, and where backup copies of Transformers' memory files had been were only smudges of soot and an acrid smell.

That finished, she burned the chair that she'd gotten to sit on, and then sent a surge through the Megastar's mainframe that removed every mention of herself and of her research.

Scattor looked up from the TV as she walked into the rec room. "Liedherz? You okay?"

She ignored the frown in his voice, only told him that he had to go somewhere- a mission- then stuck a PINpoint on him and sent him away.

That done, she slipped into the strange shadows of this reality for the last time, feeling her fire veins chill as her flames faded and went out. The shadow beasts caused her no trouble as she destroyed the markers that she'd set up.

Then she was in a quiet place, where no one ever went, feeling the faltering beat of her heart and thinking of the stories that she'd always scorned so proudly.

So... ve can die of heartbreak. Huh.

a few weeks later

REV felt his spark jump with apprehension as he pushed open the big loading door of the abandoned factory, wondering what cracked impulse was making him return to the place where he'd wakened after being brought back from the dead. The rest of his team had already gone over the place with their customary thoroughness and found nothing to hint of the being who'd rebuilt him.

He stepped inside, his optics going toward the slab where he'd wakened, and then froze for an instant before striding forward and reaching out to touch the white pod-like object that lay there in composed peace. It was a moment before he could master startled senses, and then he sent an urgent message to his Commander.

//Hotshot, I've found the angel... and she's dead.//
