Futureknight universe: Harley returns

Harley had been strolling along the beach, a couple of days after she had been proposed to by Jack Sparrow. Lost in her own thoughts, she had been wondering if Dick would of approved of the new man in her life. She had also been thinking of the wedding gift she had left for her future husband in a safe deposit account at Gotham Bank. A part of her wished so hard that she could get that gift to give to Jack Sparrow, that same part of her had also wished she could talk to Dick about the new development.

Suddenly she noticed a chill in the air, and looking around she realized she was no longer at the Boardwalk. Harley recognized where she was standing, she had been here before with Deona and Kurt, it was the future reality of Gotham City. She was not quite sure how she ended up here, but she knew that she should take advantage of the situation given to her.

Unfortunately she was quite lost. Last time she had been at the graveyard, and now she was somewhere in the city. The city had grown over the years, and she was not sure how to get to Gotham Bank, or to the Graveyard. Harley sighed to herself, and looked around hoping to catch a glimpse of a familiar landmark.

They neared her and started to pass when the redhead in the suit suddenly paused and seemed to look at her with some surprise before recovering. "Forgive, me, Madam, but you seem very familiar. Have we met before?"

"I do not think we have," Harley studied both women. Then taking a chance, she stook out her hand, "My name is Harleen Quinzel." She decided to use her real name, instead of the nickname she prefered.

The redhead blinked, though nothing else showed on her well-schooled face. "Harleen Quinzel.... I have heard that name before."

"It is quite possible you have," Harley replied, she was not sure how much she should reveil. She took back her unshoken hand, "I also go by the name Harley Quinn."

The redhead nodded. "I know. But you are not the woman of that name who is native to this place. Why are you here?"

Honesty would be the best policy, "I was thinking of Gotham, and arrived here. My Gotham no longer exists, and I have been here before, so I guess however I got here must of been fate. Or destiny. If you believe in those sort of things."
She frowns, and mutters, "I was thinking of something I left in my Gotham Bank, but I suppose it is gone now that my Gotham is destroyed."
Then softly, "and talking to him about a change in my life."

"I see." The redhead exchanged a look with the woman in the wheelchair, who quirked one eyebrow quizzically. Then she looked at Harley again. "Forgive me, Miss Harley. My name is Prudence Pennyworth, and this is one of my employers, Brenda Wayne."

It was Harley's turn to quirk an eyebrow, "Very familiar last names, for myself." She looked to Brenda, "I think I may have met your brother, or cousin, at the graveyard the last time I was here. He helped me say goodbye to someone very special to me, and part of the reason I came back was to..."
She pauses, knowing it would sound weird, "To tell the man I loved, who is dead, that I am about to be married. I had been hoping to find a wedding gift I once set aside in my Gotham Bank... but I suppose it is gone now."
