Futureknight universe: Harley returns

Harley had been strolling along the beach, a couple of days after she had been proposed to by Jack Sparrow. Lost in her own thoughts, she had been wondering if Dick would of approved of the new man in her life. She had also been thinking of the wedding gift she had left for her future husband in a safe deposit account at Gotham Bank. A part of her wished so hard that she could get that gift to give to Jack Sparrow, that same part of her had also wished she could talk to Dick about the new development.

Suddenly she noticed a chill in the air, and looking around she realized she was no longer at the Boardwalk. Harley recognized where she was standing, she had been here before with Deona and Kurt, it was the future reality of Gotham City. She was not quite sure how she ended up here, but she knew that she should take advantage of the situation given to her.

Unfortunately she was quite lost. Last time she had been at the graveyard, and now she was somewhere in the city. The city had grown over the years, and she was not sure how to get to Gotham Bank, or to the Graveyard. Harley sighed to herself, and looked around hoping to catch a glimpse of a familiar landmark.

"And did you know Dick Grayson? He's been gone from this world for many lives of men."

"I knew him, but not this him," Harley was honest.

"Ah," said the voice softly. "A Wanderer."

"I suppose I am, since I have no home of my own," Harley stated, "Who are you?"

"I was once Mary Grayson's friend. And I have watched over the family since her passing to the other world. But I have no name."

Harley looks down to Mary's grave, then back up, "I shall not hurt them, I was just looking for acceptance, for understanding, for a way to make my peace so I could move on."
She takes a breath, "My name is Harley Quinn, I am glad that there is someone watching over the family."

"I thought no ill of you. You came as to a friend." What she had thought to be a small statue of crystaline stone moved, a small star springing to life in its forehead as blank eyes looked up at her.

Harley had been wrong again about who had been talking to her, and she smiled softly at the small statue. "While you were in the companionship of Mary Grayson, did you also know of the Watchman? Previously called the Joker?"

"I knew him well, and counted him friend." The little bald female form cocked its head, studying her.

Joker had been her first love, "Did he... did he ever mourn his Harley? I know that she bore him a child, and died due to complications. How did he die?" Harley crouched down to the creature, so it could study her closer.
